Giuliani heaps congratulations on Obama

(CNN) - Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani praised President Obama for making the "tough choice" to capture al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

"There was more of a chance that something could go wrong with this operation than something go right with it. There would have been politically safer ways to do it," Giuliani said Monday on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight." "I think the president took a lot of risk here in the right way."

The former 2008 Republican presidential candidate said President Obama and former President George W. Bush "looked good" following bin Laden's death but that the danger for America is ongoing.

"A very, very big step in removing him, because he was a real symbol that organized people," Giuliani said. "But not the final step … I think short term, there's more danger. Long term, there's a lot more safety. And who knows what short term means."

Giuliani, who was mayor during the attacks on September 11, 2001, said his death "worked out for the best" and was a safer option than putting him on trial.

He also said he has a "good feeling" that people remember the events in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.

"It was really very, very heart warming to see so many people just spontaneously go out on the street in Washington and New York … a lot of young people," Giuliani said. "And it means they still remember and they still have, they still have an understanding of what happened on September 11th."

Guiliani took the adult route while so many on the others haven't. Don't they realize that their negativity only displays their pettiness and intellectual immaturity? Oh, snap, why would I expect them to have that much depth, of course they don't realize it.

Did I hear Rudie well when he said that Bush should get some credit for eradicating Bin-Laden? Let's face it, GWB is a tyrant and a war criminal who murdered 4,000 U.S. troops over bogus lies about WMD's that never did materialized. Let's face it, GWB, Rumsfeld, Chaney, Rice and Powell all need to go before a war crimes tribunal at the Hauge to be tried and convicted for war crimes. Then they all need to be thrown overboard. Divine justice!.

Thanks, noun, verb, 911. You are one of a very few Rs acknowledging that Obama did anything right.

As for the rest of them, the alternate universe is in full swing over there on faux. In the alternative universe, Obama is responsible for the great recession that started in 2007, and bush is responsible for the 8 month operation in 2010-2011 that brought down bin laden.

Torture of KSM in 2003 yielded the case cracker (if that is the case, why didn't bush act on it). All the anti-american (oops, anti terror) policies of the bush clusterf.. contributed to this.

I wouldn't be surprised if the alternate universe doesn't shortly say obama was photoshopped in the briefing room picture, it was actually bush that was there.

Thank goodness we went with the smart one this time.

    Masterful operation, Mr. President!

"Torture of KSM in 2003 yielded the case cracker (if that is the case, why didn't bush act on it)."

This has been my favorite comment coming from the right. Apparently, and by their own admission, it took until 2010 to find out the NAME of the case cracking courier. The irony of which no doubt escapes the *alternate universe-ers*.
