He should have been hung up by his feet like mussolini. This is crazy. Do you think we would have given Hitler all these honors.

I say good for him. It's not worth the potential risk to our soldiers for the backlash. If the Taliban refuses to believe it I say that is just too bad for them. I have no doubt they know they truth and are playing games anyway.

Great decision !! Anyone with a brain knows Osama is dead, and for the birthers and deniers let them live in agony, there is no good reason to pander to these people. It is enough to make a person sick the last few days whena ll you hear on CNN is every single person interviewed and asked if the photos should be shown. Osama is dead now get back to work ! The bossman has spoken, no pictures................next !

Good news, I beleive hes dead and the pictures are just going to infurate a bunch of criminals who are just looking for a reason to kill the inocent.

Good. There's little point in it, other than for the morbidly curious. It would further incite Al Queda. And for those that doubt the veracity of Bin Laden's death, it will do nothing to sway them, and they'll claim it's a fake (see how the idiotic "birthers" continue on with their "analysis" of the birth certificate, etc.).

    Very good move
people who have doubt on Osama death let them scream

Focus on Pakistan after 2001 September all terrorist attack originated in Pakistan
    (London 2005 ,Mumbai 2008 )
Now we found Osama bin Laden in Islamabad suburb

The "deathers" are going to go ballistic.

Oh, fine. Now the "deathers" will carry on for years saying that ObL is still alive. And then the president will given in and release them after a few years and everyone will say the photos are doctored and so on, ad infinitum.

Yes, because no recent events would indicate that he'll eventually capitulate to pressure to release something he said he wouldn't.

citizens of the united states need to rise up and against our own government like Libya and other countries around the world and take a stand against our government and let them know enough is enough. Our Government releases statments with what happened in the Osama situation then Pakistan says something that contradicts what our governmet said then our goverment releases another corrected statment. The citizens of this country are in the dark about everything. Our government creates its own conspiracies. It will continue until we take a stand.

This was a good move on Obama's part. No body should have to see a picture of a bullet riddled dead body sprawled all over the front cover of their local news papers, to satisfy peoples morbid sense of justice.

Sure...What does he care? He's seen them. HE has closure. What about the rest of us? We've wanted OBL dead for over 10 years and what do we get? A message in the morning that he was found, killed, and disposed of over-night. I want to see the proof.

I think that not releasing photos and video is bad a decision, as this would provide final closure to all those who suffered because OBL. When Christian people die we have "viewing's" so that people can say a final "goodbye" and get closure. I can undertand if some of the pictures compromise our service men but those pictures can be edited to omitt those people and we could see what really happened and how it ended. Obama is now behaving like a the leader of a dictatorship not of a free, democratic society!

Excellent Decision... Why risk additional attacks from his followers by inciting them with such pictures? Why subject the generation of children to the horrors the last generation was forced to grow up with? I whole heartedly support this decision... I hope you stick to your guns, and don't buckle under the media pressure to release such pics

The only point of releasing them would be to further inflame Al Qaeda anyway. Thankfully, our Seals were able to get a mother-load of Bin Laden/Al Qaeda intelligence ... without water-boarding. I suspect anyone ever associated with Bin Laden is sitting on pins and needles right about now.

who needs photos?? Waterboard the surviving bin Laden wife and children until they admit they saw the old man take it in the head
