Effort to 'bump' Trump from Indy pace car grows

Washington (CNN) - A Facebook movement to unseat potential Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump from the pace car for the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing" has reached more than eleven thousand supporters over the last month.

The fabled Indianapolis 500 is scheduled to run at the "brickyard" on Sunday, May 29 and Trump is scheduled to pilot the pace car – a 400 horsepower V8 2011 Chevrolet Camaro – the Indianapolis Motor Speedway made the announcement on April 5.

But the Indystar and Indianapolis's Fox 59 WXIN reported Wednesday that the "bump Trump" page was started by Indianapolis attorney and race fan Michael Wallack on April 8 as he felt the selection "just wrong." The Facebook page's information is more specifically in response to Trumps efforts to get the president's birth certificate released: "Make no mistake, the "birther" movement is largely a racist movement (whether overtly or subtly, knowingly or unknowingly)."

The speedway told local media it's monitoring the protest.

How did Mr Combover get this in the first place? The only wayI'd accept it is if he plastered the car with his financial records that he promised to show after the BC side-show was resolved. Oh, and Donald.....Davey Crockett wants his coon skin cap back. Unplaster it from your head and send back please

The speedway needs to distance themselves from politics. This isn't the right venue for Trump's purely egotistical agenda.

It's only right that Trump gets his share of "spankings" because surely he gave no thought to the ramifications behind his crazy tirades. Yes Mr. Trump, there is something called "payback" that doesn't always come in the form of money, it's called integrity.

Poor little Donald, he does not realize that 275 million people can't stand him. I hope this petition is successful and proves to the Donald that he is not part of middle class America.Trump has proven in the last couple months that he has no global business sense as he was on tour with the most ridiculious answers to the China and OPEC situations and he deserves to be told his nonsense is not going to be accepted.Just say no to Trump in Indy !!! Bump Trump right off track !

Dump Trump, the comb over king. Or keep him if the car is a convertible, that will make great TV watching the hair blow backwards exposing his bald head.

Would very much like to know how much he paid them for this honor. Given the fact it is the 100th anniversary of this race him being the pace car driver is ludicrous.

Make Trump prove that he is legally licensed to drive a car. Since he is so privileged to have a limo and driver to take him all over NY City, he should be given a competency driving test before getting into the pace car.

More and more people and organizations are distancing themselves from Donald Trump for his birther/racist behavior towards President Obama. Others will follow suit very shortly.
