Boehner offers 'red meat' on debt ceiling

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) – House Speaker John Boehner indicated Monday that he plans to hold a hard line in debt-ceiling negotiations.

Among his demands: Spending cuts in exchange for support to raise the debt ceiling - and the cuts will have to be greater in magnitude than the ceiling increase.

"Without significant spending cuts and the way we spend Americans' money, there will be no debt limit increase. And the cuts should be greater than the accompanying increase in debt authority the president is given," Boehner said in a speech at the Economic Club of New York.

Ticker, this is serious stuff affecting America. Why you choose to insert trashy stories regarding Bristol Palin is
beyond me. You claim to have the "latest political news from the best political team"> Exactly which office is
Ms. Palin running for and what are her solutions for America?

Go ahed Mr Wimpy Man from Tan. Tell us where your cuts will be made. We will then laugh at you. Your bogus declaration to try to placate the virus you helped bring to power (the TeaPe'ers, who else) may hold them off for a while but thinking people will see right thru you. BTW, how'd that Medicare voucher plan work out for you???

If Boehner insists on tying an increase in the debt ceiling to spending cuts, then tax cuts should be on the table too. You can't cut taxes without coming up with a bigger spending cuts. Because of the tax cuts that were passed right after the 2010 election at Republicans' insistence, we moved 850 billion closer to the debt ceiling. If Republicans are allowed to set fire, they should not be allowed to demand that Democrats come up with fire extinguishers.

Republicans, you are now in control of the House. Just point out where you want to cut trillions of "runaway spending." Once people find out that the recession caused a collapse in federal revenues (from 2.5 trillion in 2008 to 2.1 trillion in 2009) and the "runaway spending" was in the unfunded tax cuts, wars and Medicare part D that Republicans starte (Republicans would love to cut the spending on the health care bill, but most of spending on the bill is deferred until after 2014, so there is not much for Republicans to cut), they will cut Republicans from the government payroll in 2012.

So, tell me, Mr. Boehner, you're willing to exacerbate the problem YOU and the rest of Congress created by spending without raising taxes worse? That's helping America, by making our credit rating worse, thereby damaging our economy and our country? You sure have a funny way of caring for your country!

Speaker Boehner is a leader with the right cause at a time when leadership in Washington is in short supply, The only loser in a game to compromise on federal government spending is every American who believes in the future of this country. If we do not get control of this now, it will only get more difficult. Fortunately Boehner has the guts to stand up for those of us across the country, outside of the Washington DC political circus.

John Boehner – again, nothing but bla, bla, bla… GOP/TP are just afraid that the President has a much better long term plan to cut the deficit (GOP/TP have none!) – and that it will include cutting the fat of their "friends”!

The Pentagon and the military are our country's worst financial enemies. This is where fraud, waste and abuse occurs in every aspect of military and the federal employees structure from "A" to "Z." Military spending has gone so far out of control and is leading our country to a very dangerous and catastrophic debt.

What's the point of a debt ceiling if you just raise it every time you hit it?

What's your plan then? Personally, I have alot of goals but with no workable plan to reach them they are simply wishes. And if I try the same things over and over and over to acheive them (things that never worked before) then that just makes me insane, right?

Boehner – RED MEAT is not good for you – Doctor's recommend if you are going to EAT IT – Make sure it's WELL DONE!!! My POINT – your red meat means NOTHING unless you are able to "back it up" and/or convince the American people it's right for them!!!

Also – where are the JOBS??? The right-bloggers BRAGGED when the unemployment went down a TICK to 8.9 – they say it was because of the TAX CUTS for the rich....................LMAO...........................Now it's 9.0 and you can hear a PIN DROP on the RIGHT's floor. Take a look at the unemployment charts and the "job-creation" charts over the past almost 3 years and what do you see under President Obama's watch.......................CREATION!!! So come on with your bad self and bring the RED MEAT!!!!

These repugs are bent on sending the country back where they took us 2 years ago. They don't realized that jobs are what going to take us out of this hole. We have been gaining strong jobs report every month for the past 13 months, which shows that Obama is catering to the publics main concern, job creations is working. When are the repugs going to realize that it is the spenders that creates jobs, and grow the economy. And not so much big corporations, because where their is demand, corporations will compete like hell to get a slice of the money.

Enjoy your time at the helm of congress. With any luck at all, the next election will take this position from you, and hopefully many of your republican compatriots will be displaced as well. Of course, this all depends on the amount of lies your party can fabricate between now and then, but maybe, just maybe the american people will be smart enough to see through them this time. Anything is possible.
