New York (CNN) – In light of recent findings that al Qaeda was mulling targeting railroad lines to mark the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, a senator from New York is calling for tighter rail security.
U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer proposed an increase in rail security and an Amtrak version of the Secure Flight "no-fly" list.

Another stupid Schumer idea. To do this we'll end up with the same security system we have at our air ports. Anybody care to get to the train stattion 2 hours ahead of your departure time?
With all of the threats that we've had over the last 10 years, there should be heightened security for everything.
Why isn't this already in effect?
security on not only rail, every where till at least a year...air ports, borders, malls, rail, this that, white house visits...etc, god bless...
Sure...not a bad idea Chucky...especially with all the rail threat evidence from the compound where OBL was hiding.
However, I'd prefer we stay focused first on one thing: JOBS. So, instead of the "No Ride" list, let's start a "No Ideas" list and start naming names for all the people who ran on creating jobs this past fall who have not introduced a single sentence of proposed legislation to help generate jobs. NOT. ONE. SINGLE. SENTENCE.
I can hardly wait until all the "aromatic" train riders take their shoes off for inspection and the biological warfare SWAT team gets called in! So are all train riders now going to get a TSA pat down? This should be good for a few riots when they find all the weapons people are toting around.
