  1. The Day of Financial Reckoning is HERE - The Great Democrat Welfare Society Ends

A poll that is totally devoid of issues when the economy stinks, unemployment is STILL HIGH, inflation is now increasing, gas prices are through the roof, food prices are sky rocketing, the country is running up debt and deficits that will bankrupt this country, and on and on. Why even bother wasting money on this poll?

Conservatives will interpret these polls to mean that they just need to work harder to defeat the Obama-led liberals. Which is, of course, their own prime (self described) objective. If they could just marginalize more of the policies of the Obama administration, then these numbers would reverse themselves just as quickly as they just reversed themselves.

All it takes is just more hard work on the messaging and success is within reach. That's all. Election Day 2012 is still a long way off, and that gives conservatives time to control the national conversation on Obama to how they want him to appear to the American public. Democrats had better beware of this game plan, which has proven so successful in the past.

These results are not a surprise. At least the dems made some progress. I understand healthy debates but this is crazy. They need to get it together for the sake of the country. I was laid off yesterday, already applying to work for the president's campaign.

@ The day of reckoning: The Democrats are the ONLY ones who have lifted a finger to A) keep the economy from falling into a tailspin and crashing and burning into a full-fledged DEPRESSION and get back on the right footing (which it has, although slowly) and B) do anything to help those who have suffered the most in the economic downturn – the unemployed, Seniors, working mothers, homeowners, etc....In 2012 The Republicans WILL have to answer for why they have done NOTHING on the jobs front and have done everything in their power to take away and take down all of the things that the Obama Administration has worked hard to put in place to help everyone else except the rich, who actually have profited and continue to prosper in these hard economic times. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE REPUBLICANS to help the average American??...Answer: SQUAT!

Which is why Obama is planning on spending a BILLION dollars to lie and spin his economic disater into a fairy tale of success. Arithmetic and facts are his worse nightmare.

    to Rudy NYC,
lol.... once again you are spot on.
unfortunately, the right will NEVER take any responsibility for driving the country into the ditch and will continue to preach the same failed policies and tell the same lies that got us here. They will never admit that W started 2 wars and kept them off the books, borrowing the cash from China. It's funny how when the President ( Obama) decided to put the cost ON THE BOOKS, the right cried, "tax and spend!" while not admitting what they were doing is "don't tax, but spend anyway".
    You can't fix stupid.
they are truly unencumbered by the thought process.

See what I mean? You thought that I was overstating the matter. I think I understated it.
Not even after you spell it out in ABCs and slap in their face, the neo-cons still don't get it.

Get ready, hear come the Republican responses that will tell us we have to cut Medicare, but keep giving billions in tax breaks to the most profitable companies in the world.

When pressed on oil companies, the reply is always the same that oil companies will simply raise prices they charge us. Americans don't give into terrorist threats and we refuse to give into politicians who tell oil companies to raise prices.

    @ Rudy, NYC and Tulsa-–
You are both right, right, right. Unfortunately a lot of bloggers on this site just don't get it. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with where they get their information from, ie: Faux News, Limbaugh, etc. Of course they would never dream of going elsewhere to see what is going on.

That's close, but not quite. The correct answer is "Not Squat". They haven't done squat.

  13. HAD ENOUGH? 9% unemployment, $4-5/gal gas, $1.7 TRILLION deficits, $14 TRILLION debt, Obamacare

The Amercian people "got it" in 2010 and threw the Democrats OUT. Yet the Democrats refuse to "get it" and continue their insane fiscal policies. Therefore, the Democrats will "get it" again in 2012. And that is change we can ALL believe in!

"...which is the mandate Republicans were sent to Washington with. Again, a win for the American voters."

My point is that nothing the Republicans have done in CONGRESS has helped increase job growth. Not one bill has been introduced which has contributed to the job growth you are so proud to call your own. Quite the contrary, in fact. GOPers have fought every bill which would hamper job outsourcing, including taking away tax credits to corporations which still do outsource jobs oversees. You and I have had this argument before, and I expect it will continue. Simply latching onto President Obama's coattails during this economic upsweep isn't fooling anyone, and while immature of GOPers to do so, it is on par for a Party with no real solutions of their own.

The fact that this POLL is within the margin of error from the very liberal base CNN uses is very telling.

The 2008-2009 budget belonged to George W. Bush. It began as $700T deficit, to which another $700B TARP was added on to create a total deficit of over $1.4T.

The 2009-2010 budget belonged to Barrack Obama. The economy reduced revenue on a projected $700T deficit. Combined with increased war spending and Stimulus spending, the US experienced another $1.4T deficit.

The 2010-2011 budget has been written by a GOP controlled House. The history of it is still being written. Just like the previous year, the same factors are pushing this year's deficit to over $1.5T.
