Gingrich to barnstorm through Iowa next week

(CNN) - One day after formally announcing his candidacy for president, Newt Gingrich announced a six day campaign swing through Iowa.

According to a press release from his campaign, the former House speaker will make stops in 17 cities and towns, starting Monday, in the state that holds the first contest in the presidential primary and caucus calendar.

Wednesday Gingrich launched his bid for the Republican presidential nomination with an announcement on his Facebook and Twitter pages. Friday he gives a speech in Macon, Georgia at the state GOP convention.

Gingrich kicks off his Iowa swing Monday by giving the keynote address at the Dubuque Kiwanis Club. He also speaks in Cedar Rapids and Des Moines later in the day. Gingrich holds events in Mason City, Waterloo, Marshalltown, Aimes, Carroll, Atlantic, Council Bluffs, Onawa, Sioux City, Le Mars, Storm Lake, Holstein, Orange City and Sheldon, during his trip.

Congratulations! Gingrich has found a way for the misguided public to continue to support him "in the fashion to which he has become accustomed". Knowing that he is not a good candidate for President, he knows that the millions received from gullible supporters will be put to good use to secure his financial future and access to high-level contacts. All funded by the American public!

Yes, he's barnstorming alright. And he's bringing all the pig and cow crap that goes along with a barn also. Always has. Always will. He's just a re-hash of the [R] FAILURE that put this country into the problems that it is now trying to recover from.

According to Newt's supporters, just as America has finally climbed out of the deep hole that his ilk put us in, just as she is clinging to the rim trying to pull herself out, let's just kick her in the face again, by putting a proven incompetent in charge, one who hasn't even learned the lessons from his many past failures. What a great idea.....MORONS!

Waste of time, money and energy, but maybe this will be his last nail in the coffin! He's not only the biggest hypocrite for cheating on his wife while impeaching President Clinton, but he is also a has-been and certainly not what we need for the 21st Century. It would be interesting to see him debate President Obama though because then I'm sure his crazy ideas and bitterness would be revealed to all. Don't think he'll make it that far however.

"Barnstorm" – Really now! Newt doesn't seem to be much of a barnstormer to me and I bet the cows all leave the building when he shows up. Does this bafoon really expect to win or is he just looking to stand on a bale of hay and blow off more hot air? Why doesn't he just go and get a job on Fox – the "We Decide – You Agree" channel and save us from having to look at and listen to him?

What a joke. He's just tired of being a nobody in the background of todays events so this is his way of pulling a Sarah Palin, "hey look at me" ploy. Newt, no on really takes you seriously anymore.

Democrat Class Warfare – Destroying the economy, destroying the country

I can hardly wait for Newt to start giving his speeches and slamming the Obama administration on the long list of its failures. PLENTY of material after only 2.5 years.

thx for the laugh. I can't wait for Newt (yes, Newt) to explain how he, like Willard Romney, stated unequivocally that he is a staunch supporter of the individual mandate.
"Personal responsibility extends to the purchase of health insurance. Citizens should not be able to cheat their neighbors by not buying insurance, particularly when they can afford it, and expect others to pay for their care when they need it."
Newton F Gingrich in Des Moines register June 2007
Flip to Romney's flop? Two birds of a feather? We know Newt isn't consistent other than skirt chasing and contradicting himself...
