Senate committee refers Ensign case to Justice Department

Washington (CNN) – The Senate Ethics Committee announced Thursday that it has referred key findings of its case against former Sen. John Ensign to the Justice Department, laying the groundwork for possible prosecution of the Nevada Republican.

Ensign resigned his Senate seat May 3 after revelations that he had an affair with a female aide who was married to another top aide and that his parents subsequently gave money to the aides' family.

Former Sen. Ensign may be wearing some chromed out jewelry soon. I think mom and dad should be called on to testify regarding those 12,000 dollar incremental gifts. I sure hope they lie so they can be brought up on perjury charges as well.

They threw him under the bus. Ensign thought that he was going to skate by quitting. Now he is looknig at a country club prison haul. A good place for a C street preacher.

Personal tax cuts to the wealthy do not create jobs. It siphons off capital that could create jobs. The cash gets invested, which does not create jobs.
    ________________________________________________________________________________________________
What school of economics did you go to which taught that invested cash does not create jobs?!?! I'm not kidding. This is exactly what you said. I suppose in your school money spent on unemployment benefits creates jobs? Money spent on entitlements creates jobs? Money given to big banks creates jobs? $100 million a month given to Pakistan creates jobs?

That's what happens when you type too fast. Left out two words,

Personal tax cuts to the wealthy do not create jobs.
It siphons off capital that could create jobs.
The cash gets invested IN PLACES which does not create jobs.

"Wonder if rep. Issa is watching."

Nah...he's too busy conducting a kangaroo court style hearing about Obama's Executive Order that all contractors hired by the gov't must make their political donations public. He's stacked the record with 5 or 6 witnesses he called to talk about how awful it is, etc., and will only let the Dems call one witness. And yet, CNN hasn't reported on it and instead chose to help Hatch disseminate his talking point about the Dems' oil subsidies hearings being a "dog and pony show"...despite the Dems actually calling the very people who are going to most disagree with them and giving them an opportunity to explain and defend their position that they actually need billions of dollars of middle-class taxpayers' money despite making record profits throughout the entire recession.

That's not what he's in trouble for. It's the money part, not where he banged his gavel.

Thank you Grassley. I mean, you might as well be him since you just regurgitated precisely his talking points on the subject for him. Do you have a thought in your head that belongs to yourself maybe? Did you type that from his offices while being dandied on his knee?

Thank-you. What you wrote is exactly what I meant, and more like investing overseas. I had left out 2 words, see above.

When are the all Democrats going to jail for tax fraud, evasion and bribery? Why is Charlie Rangell in the House instead of jail? Whatever happen with Maxine Waters? Funny how all that corruption just gets swept under the rug...

Speaking of our useless Justice Dept., whatever happened with all the terrorists that attacked us? The undie bomber, Ft. Hood shootings, Times Square bomber...???? Did Eric Holder just set them free as well? Or he sueing Arizona instead of prosecuting these guys?

    "and more like investing overseas"

Good point...I get so focused on the proliferation of increasingly arcane investment vehicles that are further and further removed from having an actual effect on the market that I always forget to mention the overseas part hehe
