Washington (CNN) - Judge me by what I can do for America now, rather than only by my mistakes in the past, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich said Sunday.
The former House speaker, who announced his candidacy last week, told NBC's "Meet the Press" that he has made mistakes in life, including an adulterous affair that led to one of his two divorces.

I'm conservative, but I'm thinking that Obama will be a 2-term'r. There is no one else yet in the GOP that has come out real strong, and whoever does announce is immediately on the defense (mainly because of the media). I wonder if Christie's wife will let him run...or what ghosts are in his closet.

I can see how any body Republican or Democrats should be able to run for any public office, If you kick out of Congress On 84 Ethics Charges and was Forced to resign should be able to run for any Public office. There is no way that I would vote for someone with a past like him. Just because people like to cite that the divorce rate is 50% does not mean that all of them are because of cheating. I meant my vows and they will continue to mean something to me the rest of my life. There is NO excuse for cheating.
