Gingrich says voters should judge his ability to lead now

Washington (CNN) - Judge me by what I can do for America now, rather than only by my mistakes in the past, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich said Sunday.

The former House speaker, who announced his candidacy last week, told NBC's "Meet the Press" that he has made mistakes in life, including an adulterous affair that led to one of his two divorces.

Ask the voters of Wisconsin and Michigan if they are able to judge what the Republicans are all about. Liars and
    deceivers. Right Newt?

Ok Newt, what you did then was then! What we need now is the different leadership all together. We are looking forward and not backwards!

You have no ability to run this country, Newt. You haven't done anything to apologize for your past misdeeds and bad judgments. You've done nothing to prove to the American people that you're anything more than the narcissistic, egocentric, power-hungry lying hypocrite that you've always been.

Yes – he should be judged on what he is now. A lying hyrocritical politician – out for himself and his "sponsors" – willing to say anything to the gulible to get power so that he and his friends can personally profit from it at the expense of the nation.

Would you grant the same to Obama?

Geez I think if he's entering the race on this note, he's already a goner.

I'm conservative, but I'm thinking that Obama will be a 2-term'r. There is no one else yet in the GOP that has come out real strong, and whoever does announce is immediately on the defense (mainly because of the media). I wonder if Christie's wife will let him run...or what ghosts are in his closet.

Judge him now sure!!! Most recently I recall him selling his "services" to far right wing non-profits who in turn spread massive false ads that have lied to the public about Obama and the laws passed(ie true definitions & funding) by congress.... Anyone know which wife he is on now??? Divorce would be his Wag the Dog card.....

When Grigrich was speaker there was a bumper sticker that said "Neuter Gingrich." Still a good idea?

I'd rather have someone who has made mistakes, acknowledges them and apologizes, but has the ability and the knowledge to lead this country than a socialist who laughs at any American who doesn't agree with him. Obama is the worst president in American history.

    Obama/Biden 2012.

Hope the dems can continue to improve life for U.S. residents. The republicans will sell us out to the highest corporate bidder to their campaign finances.

I can see how any body Republican or Democrats should be able to run for any public office, If you kick out of Congress On 84 Ethics Charges and was Forced to resign should be able to run for any Public office. Let a long running for President. And be side you didn't learn any thing when you cheated on your first wife ,even did on wife number two. So no I don't even think you should be able to ran at all.

There is no way that I would vote for someone with a past like him. Just because people like to cite that the divorce rate is 50% does not mean that all of them are because of cheating. I meant my vows and they will continue to mean something to me the rest of my life. There is NO excuse for cheating. It reveals a lying, snake-like character and certainly not someone I would ever vote for. NO thanks.

You were a hypocrite then and you are a hypocrite now. Remember how you wasted millions of taxpayer money trying to impeach Clinton for the same thing you were doing with your mistress, at the same time.

How can we trust you Newt, we can't
