Obama wants aid for displaced workers

Washington (CNNMoney) – It's tit for tat on trade treaties between President Obama and congressional Republicans.

Last month, Republicans threatened not to confirm Obama's nominee for commerce secretary unless he sent Congress trade treaties with Korea, Colombia and Panama for ratification.

    It's a shame that we have a political environment that lives on Quid Pro Quo. We need leadership that makes treaties or funds programs not because of a political gain, but because it is the right thing to do.

    The Senate Republicans have vetoed more appointments over the past 2 years than what we have seen over the previous 40 years. This appointment will be named over the Memorial Day recess.

    OK, I KNOW that there will always be people who will take advantage of a situation without regard for the consequences to everyone else, but...

    Isn't it SAD that our President has to fight for people who actually need it and against tax cuts for people who don't?
