Bachmann 2012 announcement, sooner rather than later?

(CNN) – Potential presidential candidate Rep. Michele Bachmann may expedite an announcement about her presidential intentions.

"The recent response from people, in terms of Facebook activity and donations, has been amazing," Bachmann said in a statement Tuesday. "And it is forcing us to probably speed up our timing. We were looking at June, but we may make a decision in May."

Bachmann previously said she would make a decision by June, or possibly earlier.

The Minnesota Republican and Tea Party favorite has traveled to early presidential primary and caucus states including Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.

In a recent CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll, Bachmann received support from 7 percent of Republicans and independents who lean Republican when pitted against other possible and declared GOP candidates.

She ranked fifth behind former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney who received 23 percent support, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin with 17 percent, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich with 13 percent and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas with 12 percent.

It's official: we are now all living in an alternate universe.

(you may ask yourself, "Well, How did I get here?")

Another announcement that she won't run. All the clowns are running for the exit. I would to see Bachmann debate. That would be quite a joke.

Oh, PLEASE, let her get the nomination.

Obama and Biden will win with more electoral votes than Reagan did when he beat Mondale (and Mondale only walked away with 13 electoral votes *g*)

It won't just be Obama winning by a landslide - the newscasters will be able to call an Obama/Biden victory within six hours after the East Coast election sites open. :)

I'm sure she's all giddy, because without the freak Trump in the race, without Huckleberry in the race and with Newt in the race, she's thinking I just might have a chance to make an idiot out of myself. I think someone above here already said it. "This is going to get good." Can you imagine Bachmann debating Obama down the road if she makes it? I am lmao already.

Ah yes, the GOP PT Barnum political circus never ends. I say Bachmann should take up the challenge by that teenager to debate her on civics and the Constitution. That girl will hand Bachmann her butt.

I love Michelle Bachman, I love the way she inflames the libs, she gets it, she is an American and is ready to fight for what America needs to do to regain our prosperity. She would make and awesome President and I think that 95% of all women should block vote for her regardless of her political stance...you know, first woman President an all.

It would be very entertaining to watch this fool attempt to debate our Harvard educated, law professor President.

Facebook activity? This is what happens when the mentally ill are allowed access to the internet. As far as the donations are concerned, its easy to for the mega-churches to shake people down and set a little aside from their abortion-bombing/militia funds. She is a perfect example of what happens when people stop thinking and parrot back slogans: someone who believes in extremes, and is incapable of seeing her opponants as human because that would require work beyond what she is accustomed to.

Its pathetic that this sad excuse of a political hack could be considered worthy by anyone to represent the party of Lincoln in a general election. She cannot or will not answer a question with a straight answer, and has questioned the loyalty and patriotism of those who disagree with her. Her " sucess" is indicative of a breakdown in our political system, one that has further polarized our country and made it easy to hate and hard to get anything done. She is a virus, and is one of the biggest symptoms of how ill our society has become.

The GOP has nothing to offer the American people – they don't have a record to run on – all they have is lies, fear, anger and division – all of their economic, military and foreign policies are PROVEN FAILURES.

So of course they are trotting out the loons like Bachmann. All they can hope for is to put enough of their silly base into a tizzy and get them to the polls to once again vote against their own self-interest.

Reagan must be spinning in his grave!

Batty Bachmann was elected to represent the people of the great State of Minnesota, and as yet has not done the job she was elected to do. She has done noting but campaign for the presidency ever since her election and has shortchanged the people of Minnesota in every way possible. Why would anyone want her to be president when she has already shown that she has no intention of doing what she's paid to do?

  15. Palin Power

Bachmann will run, however she will not win for Sarah Palin will win. However Bachmann will be Palin's invincible running mate and help Palin defeat Obozo/Biden. We will have 2 terms of Palin/Bachmann followed by 2 terms of Bachmann/Another white conservative woman. Men, minorities, liberals will never be president and vice-president again. Only white conservative women shall be POTUS and VP! We will have an eternal line of conservative white women presidents!
