When did Pawlenty decide to run? He's not sure

(CNN) – Tim Pawlenty is set to announce he's running for president on Monday, but does he need a better answer as to why?

The former Minnesota governor is taking heat from Iowa Democrats after what appeared to some as a bungled answer to our sister publication Time Magazine when asked when he decided he was "up to the grand challenge of the presidency."

Pawlenty headed to Iowa to formally declare candidacy

(CNN) – Tim Pawlenty's making it official, and the location where he's doing it is no surprise.

A source close to the former Minnesota governor tells CNN that Pawlenty will formally announce his candidacy for president Monday morning in neighboring Iowa. Sarah Palin has the ‘fire in my belly’ for prez run

(CNN) – Sarah Palin has given few indications in recent weeks she is still actively considering a presidential run, but the former Alaska governor said Thursday she has the “fire in my belly” to mount a bid for the White House.

Appearing on Fox News, where she serves as a contributor, Palin did not rule out the possibility that she could jump into the still-undefined Republican presidential field, though offered few specifics on where she is in her thought process.

GOP contenders: Obama has 'thrown Israel under the bus'

Washington (CNN) – As President Obama's speech on the U.S. role in the Middle East is getting praise by some around the world, it is also receiving harsh criticism from political opponents at home.

Huntsman doubles down on serving for Obama

(CNN) – Former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman’s biggest vulnerability as he gets serious about a presidential bid is likely the fact he spent the last two years working for the man he now wants to beat.

But in an interview with ABC News airing Friday, the former U.S. Ambassador to China said he’d serve the president again if he was asked.

GOP leaders restless about 2012 candidates, but ready to take on Obama

Dallas (CNN) – GOP leaders from around the country who gathered in Dallas this week for a meeting of the Republican National Committee view their field of 2012 presidential contenders as unsettled, unpredictable and perhaps a bit uninspiring.

But there was also consensus at the meeting that their eventual nominee won't have to worry about galvanizing Republican support in the general election, a dilemma the party faced in 2008 when the GOP was burdened by an unpopular president and a nominee, Arizona Sen. John McCain, who had a famously rocky relationship with conservatives.

CNN: Obama calls for Israel's return to pre-1967 borders
His position agreed with the Palestinian negotiating stance on border issues in the staggering peace process, now stalled again by disputes over Israel settlements in the West Bank and the role of Hamas - a terrorist group in the eyes of the United States and Israel - in the Palestinian leadership. At the same time, Obama reiterated unwavering U.S. support for Israel's security, and he endorsed major negotiating positions of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government, including an incremental handover of security responsibilities by Israel when conditions on the ground allow it.
