Sarah Palin has the ‘fire in my belly’ for prez run

(CNN) – Sarah Palin has given few indications in recent weeks she is still actively considering a presidential run, but the former Alaska governor said Thursday she has the “fire in my belly” to mount a bid for the White House.

Appearing on Fox News, where she serves as a contributor, Palin did not rule out the possibility that she could jump into the still-undefined Republican presidential field, though offered few specifics on where she is in her thought process.

"I think my problem is that I do have the fire in my belly," said Palin. "I'm so adamantly supportive of the good traditional things about America and our free enterprise system and I want to make sure that America is put back on the right track and we only do that by defeating Obama in 2012."

The comments come after two once-potential presidential hopefuls – Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee – announced they were forgoing a presidential run because their inner yearning for the job was not strong enough to endure an 18 month campaign.

Not so when it comes to Sarah Palin. Rather, for her, the decision comes down to a series of “practical” concerns.

"It's a matter for me for some practical, pragmatic decisions that have to be made," Palin added, saying she is concerned about public scrutiny of members of her family.

"It's a matter for me for some practical, pragmatic decisions that have to be made," she said. “One is, with a large family, understanding the huge amount of scrutiny and the sacrifices that have to be made on my children’s part in order to see their mama run for president.

"But yeah, the fire in my belly, it’s there. That’s kind of my problem - it’s such a roaring fire to preserve what is good about America," she added.

I hope sarah gets the republician bid for many reasons. First it would ensure a second term for obama.....second it would bring back a lot of seats in the house and the senate considering that all of those republicans would have have to stand united behind her and talk about how "capable" she would be for the job....it would be like 2008 all over again.....but she wont run because she would never win and she cares more about her speech tour and making money for herself....after the tea party has a crushing defeat in 2012 it will dissolve and sarah palin will just be a bad joke that everyone kind of remembers

Run Sarah! Run! Please? Pretty please? Turn that fire into the crap that is. Obama is gonna go up in you all over the country. Please prove that the Republicans don't have a message, don't have solutions. Just fire to burn the country up like they've done since RR came in office and made it okay to be rich, white, dumb, and still be in contention for POTUS.

If Sarah were to run and win, she would most likely be the first president to serve 2 years of her term and quit, just like in Alaska. She brings a new meaning to "term limits".

This article says Palin "offered few specifics on where she is in her thought process." That's because there is no thought process.

It call heartburn, don't let it go to your head. Ordinarily I'm all for achieving the impossible, but we can not elect you to be president unless there are other position above you. One would be to actually run the country, the other would be to undo some of the messes you would created.

    That's just too much work.

How does she expect to get through a serious presidential campaign if she continutes her pathetic efforts to demonize the "lamestream media" and refuse interviews, except to her FOX buddies? Did she not see how well that sort of campaign worked for her fellow sob-sisters, Sharron Angle and Christine O'Donnell?

President Palin will completely clean and purify the corruption in Washington with the Power of God Herself! She will wipe the DEMS into Extinction and clean the GOP into a party that is truly for the people. Palin will restore the govt back to the people and restore honor, integrity and dignity. Palin is our savior, messiah and salvation.

2 sides to this: with $arah being a complete political hack and sideshow, the comedy that would come out of her actually attempting to gain the nomination would be off the charts. Unprecedented comedy, the best sitcom writers couldn't dream up the stuff that we'd witness with her actually trying to fake it as a legitimate candidate. From a personal standpoint, I hope it happens because I love to laugh.

On the flip side: this country would be seen as an even bigger laughingstock internationally, than we already are. You think this country has perception problems abroad now? Wait until this embarrassing twit actually is presented as someone who is fit to lead the country. It would be very damaging to our reputation.
