(CNN) - CNN's very own John King caught David Ortiz's 300th homerun for the Red Sox at Fenway Park Saturday.
The Massachusetts native and anchor of CNN's "John King, USA" said he "trapped it," but either way, he ended up with the ball.
The team's designated hitter became the fourth player in the club's history to hit 300 home runs in the bottom of the fourth inning against the Chicago Cubs.
Ortiz wanted the ball for himself so King returned it and later received a signed bat (picture above).

So. John jinxed them? Is that what you are telling us?
WTF? Or BFD? Who cares about Dana Bash's lapdog?
I didn’t know Magic Wall John king is Baseball fan
As a news fan and a Red Sox fan I am inpressed. But lest John get caught up in the "rapture of the moment" remember John: the GOP is still in charge of the House and the Cubs scored 8 in the 8th so you are not in heaven but congrats anyway.
