Obama rejects controversy over his stance on Middle East peace talks

Washington (CNN) - President Barack Obama said Sunday that any controversy over his remarks last week that Israel-Palestinian negotiations should start from pre-1967 borders and include land swaps was "not based in substance."

In his first speech as president to the main American-Israeli advocacy group, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), Obama sought to reassure the vital U.S. Jewish lobby of his administration's commitment to Israel's security while also making clear his desire to kick-start the stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace talks at a time when the entire Middle East landscape is changing amid the so-called Arab Spring demonstrations.

Obama is basically saying "Don't believe anything that I say". What an idiot.

While I will always support Israel and everything America can do for them, I truly resent Netanyahu coming here and
lecturing OUR President. All the little Teapubs who went to Israel to bow before King 'Yahu" no doubt told him that,
if they win they will take him back to the Bush years. After all, Netanyahu once said "Bush was the best friend
Israel ever had".... that is, until he wasn't. If you can't listen to speeches, comprehend them, and debate on
facts, then keep your nonsense to yourselves, thank you.

So if Israel needs to get on board and give up their settlements, what will the Palistinians be asked to give up? And don't tell me they are just getting their Palistinian state back. There has never been a Palistinian state. That is something cooked up by Yasser Arafat as a political ploy back in the 60's. Read your history, people.

The obama plan should become clearer each and every day. Obama seeks the destruction of Israel and the destruction of America. America elected a president that they knew nothing about. How can America blame anyone else for its problems. The wrath of GOD may already be on America. If America fights back and stands up against obama; Will GOD forgive America. Will GOD forgive America. Is it the will of the people or their leader. Who will be held accountable for trying to divide Israel.
Obadiah 1:15 and Joel 3:2 make it very clear that any nation (including America) that tries to divide the Land of Israel (including Jerusalem) will indeed experience the
judgment of God.

What does it say about the American educational system when Obama can say one thing on Thursday, the opposite on Sunday, and still, his supporters are not intellectually offended by what is blatant dishonesty.

Obama made two entirely contradictory statements. Both things cannot be true.

Even allowing that a person is a socialist and believes in big government, etc. etc., you would think that he or she would want a better human being, an honest person, to represent them. To allow Obama to tell a bald faced lie and to defend him for it, is not helping him. It is adding to his own (misguided) sense that he can do no wrong. We all make mistakes, we all can do wrong, if no one corrects us, we learn nothing from our mistakes. Also, to say that the 1967 border issue was supported by former United States presidents is entirely false. It never was.

I am so discouraged to see lie and lie being told by Obama and in defense of Obama. The man is the President. If he has no standards, no character, what is this country coming to?

What is happening to this country? Know the truth and it shall indeed set you free.

I find it very interesting that people who hated President Bush, want to claim now that Omuslim is just stating the same thing that Bush did regarding Israel. However, Bush never said that Israel had to use the 1967 borders as a starting point for a negotiation between the jewish state and the so called palestenian's. In fact, Bush regected that idea, and did so in writing. But it's not surprising, since everything about Obummer is based on lies.

Imam Obama ment what he said, and he said that Israel must except pre 1967 borders, and a right of return, both of which would spell an end to the state of Israel. He is now trying to walk this statement back, after the oval office smack down that bibi gave him.

Omuhhomedbama is no friend of Israel, or Jews. He sat in a church for 20 years where both Israel and jews had hate and lies dumped on them every sunday.
Wake up America, we have a communist, muslim pretending to be president.

The only way this issue will ever get resolved, leaders have to actually lead. You must come to the table ready to negotiate. A sensible person realizes the dynamics (demographics) have changed since the late '60s (i.e. Arab / Israeli war). More settlers in the the West Bank and the list goes on. I only hope both the Israel's and the Palestinians, will stop complaining about past issues, and start talking about ways to find piece. IOW's "Let's get on with resolving this mess people"

Pure BS. Everyone knows what he really meant, when he made such an issue of the date.

Unfortunately for him, no one supported that position, and now he simply wants to save face.

Our inept President and his amateurish staff average about one snafu-a–week and it's been over 2 years since these folks have been "in charge"! Furthermore, we're tird of hearing how we, the audience, misinterpreted what was said, or that someone merely "misspoke"! Not since Carter, have we've seen such a sorry bunch and 2012 can't come fast enough!
