(CNN) - Former Vice President Dick Cheney heaped praise on House Budget Committee Chairman Rep. Paul Ryan, the architect of the GOP Medicare plan.
"I worship the ground that Paul Ryan walks on," Cheney said, according to the Houston Chronicle.
"I hope he doesn't run for president because that would ruin a good man who has a lot of work to do."
Cheney and his wife, Lynne, spoke at the KPMG Global Energy Institute event in Houston Wednesday.
Ryan's plan, which passed in the House and failed in the Senate, has taken center stage among members of both political parties and 2012 presidential candidates as the debate over the budget crisis continues.

If Cheney had been on the health plan Republicans want to put in place, he would be discussed in the past tense. He would be trying to explaine to GOD who this person named Paul Ryan is that he worshiped. Cheney is about as close to nothingness as one can come.

Cheney approves of the RyanDoesntCare Plan. Worships it, in fact. That is a shot across the bow people. Despite all of the talk, spin, and rhetoric to come in the days, weeks, and months ahead about how the plan is just a starting point...NO. It is the desired endpoint. The Republicans decided to continue to pursue The Great Sucker Punch (Nov/2010) and make a quick land grab. It didn't work. They have been trying for decades. They will never give up their goal to end Medicare.

Everyone who thinks Medicare is worthwhile should be thankful for Paul Ryan, the one guy who came up with a realistic plan to save it.

Dick Cheney was one of the greatest Vice Presidents we have ever had. Lets hope that his daughter Liz runs for president. She will cut off welfare, education, social security, medicare, medicaid, send all illegals out of this country, set up a dept of morals, cut taxes for the rich, pour billions into new weapon systems, refuse all imported oil from the arabs and tell the poor in this country to leave.
In my opinion Cheney worships the almight dollar and nothing else matters to him. Of course, he also worships the ground Paul Ryan walks on due to the fact that Ryan wants to rob the middle class/poor/elderly, and disabled in America to further the republican corporate masters and wealthy. My advice to the republicans/democrats/conservatives/tbags, and any other political party out there is...KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MEDICARE AND SOCIAL SECURITY. I would suggest that these politicans pay back the money they took from both of these funds under the pretense of borrowing...that would certainly go a long way in solving the plight of Medicare and Social Security. Pay back the money you thieves.
Cheney's approval is automatically my disapproval. Good grief, someone who is a war monger, hate spewer, greedy narcissist can't even think straight for the good of all. He basically lead a failed administration, had a lot to do with scattering the GOP into oblivion, and should just keep out of policy conversations. Nobody wants to hear what he has to say, because he usually doesn't know what he's talking about. Does he know that if you're on Medicare it's hard to find a doctor? No, because talking to the people and understanding their needs is not anything he is interested in.

Well, it appears that he doesn't want to admit that he could be wrong... If he were under 55 and the Ryan plan went into effect, then he would have little chance of getting a reasonablely priced health insurance plan. I think that is the point that many people who have health insurance now will not have it when they retire. Many people plan on having Medicare when they retire because that will take them; other places will charge so much more that it will unaffordable.
I wonder who paid for his multiple hospital visits? Time to decide if we want Medicare and if so raise the $ we pay into the program to keep it solvent.
