(CNN) - Former Vice President Dick Cheney heaped praise on House Budget Committee Chairman Rep. Paul Ryan, the architect of the GOP Medicare plan.
"I worship the ground that Paul Ryan walks on," Cheney said, according to the Houston Chronicle.
"I hope he doesn't run for president because that would ruin a good man who has a lot of work to do."
Cheney and his wife, Lynne, spoke at the KPMG Global Energy Institute event in Houston Wednesday.
Ryan's plan, which passed in the House and failed in the Senate, has taken center stage among members of both political parties and 2012 presidential candidates as the debate over the budget crisis continues.

That's easy. He worships the dark side of the force. They don't call him Darth Cheney for nothing. After all, the man survived numerous heart attacks and the only reasonable explanation is that the dark side of the force is keeping him alive. Therefore, its an easy step to say that that is what he worships.
Is this man (Cheney) not retired?? If one retires, he just relax, forget what he was doing and let others take the place. He is always injecting himself all the times in every aspect. Can anyone advise us when he is really going to retire?? when ?? when he hits100 years and can not follow what is said or going on??????

Cheney is typical of selfish wealthy people from here and around the world who can afford to pay any amount to get ahead of US citizens and take advantage of our healthcare system – while displacing our citizens who can't afford to pay for both food and healthcare.
This is the same crowd who say the US has the best healthcare in the world and we do – so long as you inculde "that money can buy". Dispicable.

If he was on Medicare like the rest of us he would have been dead years ago.
Well, it appears that he doesn't want to admit that he could be wrong... If he were under 55 and the Ryan plan went into effect, then he would have little chance of getting a reasonablely priced health insurance plan. I think that is the point that many people who have health insurance now will not have it when they retire. Many people plan on having Medicare when they retire because that will take them; other places will charge so much more that it will unaffordable.
I wonder who paid for his multiple hospital visits? Time to decide if we want Medicare and if so raise the $ we pay into the program to keep it solvent.

You will be pleased to know that Health Care, not defense is the largest portion of the 2011 federal budget at 18%.
Well, if there was every any doubt that Ryan's plan would be bad for America and the American people, this just eliminated it. If Cheney worships Ryan, he's evil. If he supports the Ryan budget, it's destructive. End of Story. Thanks Dick!

You tell 'em, Mr. Cheney! You make sure all your supporters demand that every republican candidate for anything come out and publicly swear allegiance to the Ryan budget plan. Field well-funded primary challenges against any who fail to pay proper homage to this great document!
And the democrats will wind up with the Oval Office, the House, and a fillibuster-proof majority in the Senate.
