Obama's 2012 campaign makes moves

(CNN)– There are 531 days to go until the 2012 presidential election, and a new web video released today by the Obama campaign promises a jump start for a campaign designed to reignite President Obama's backers and build grassroots support.

"In September and October we will see a sea of volunteers come into our offices. We know we have to have an infrastructure in place, an organization in place to properly channel that energy," Obama's Battleground Director Mitch Stewart says in the video.

Washington (CNN) - The Biblical story of Lazarus is happening again in Africa. At least it looks that way.

One moment, men, women and children suffering from AIDS are lying at death's door, barely able to move, open their eyes, or speak. Then a few days or weeks later, they are walking, talking, laughing; truly appearing to have come back from the dead.

In Pakistan, Clinton addresses rift, pushes anti-terror efforts

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) – Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said she had a frank discussion with the Pakistani president on Friday as part of a push to repair the relationship with Islamabad in the wake of a U.S. raid that killed Osama bin Laden.

Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, accompanied Clinton for what one senior State Department official said beforehand would be a "sober" set of talks about the need for Pakistan to root out terrorists in its country.

Obama praises Poland, blasts Belarus during trip

WARSAW, Poland (CNN) - President Barack Obama on Saturday held up Poland's transition to democracy in the 1980s as a model for nations today pushing back against their governments - from countries in North Africa and the Middle East to some in Eastern Europe.

In remarks with his Polish counterpart and member's of Poland's Solidarity movement, Obama said, "Your actions charted a course for freedom that inspired many on this continent and beyond. And it has many relevant lessons, so we want to encourage all states undergoing similar experiences to learn from Poland."

Jobs take center stage, again, in weekly addresses

Washington (CNN) – Vice President Joe Biden began the weekly address with “good news” Saturday, praising signs of growth in the economy as seen through the lens of the automobile industry.

“Not only is our economy overall growing,” he said, “one of the important sectors of economy is on the rise again: the American automobile industry.”
