Reagan puts his mark on Indy 500

(CNN) - Former President Ronald Reagan, who once started a NASCAR race from Air Force One, was able to posthumously put his mark on the Indianapolis 500 Sunday.

The Reagan Presidential Foundation's seal honoring the centennial of his birth adorned the nose of the car, driven by racer Dan Wheldon that took the checkered flag Sunday.

Memorial Day brings out presidential hopefuls

(CNN) - Politicians will be in plentiful supply this Memorial Day as the ramp-up to the 2012 presidential election begins in earnest.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who began a nationwide bus tour Sunday, generated plenty of buzz by riding into Washington on the back of a motorcycle. The Republican is believed to be considering a White House bid, but has not announced her intentions.

William Clements, first Texas GOP governor since 1870s, dead at 94

(CNN) – William Clements, the first Republican governor of Texas since Reconstruction, died Sunday at the age of 94.

Two of his successors in Austin - George W. Bush and Rick Perry - were among those expressing sympathy at the Dallas native's death, with the former president calling him "a great man."
