Washington (CNN)– A top adviser to Sarah Palin fired back at Ed Rollins, the longtime Republican operative tapped to run Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann's presidential campaign, after Rollins dismissed Palin as "not serious" in a radio interview this week.
Rollins also told Politico on Tuesday that Bachmann will "be so much more substantive" than Palin, and said he is "not afraid" of the former Alaska governor.
Michael Glassner, the chief of staff for Palin's political action committee, issued a rare public statement Wednesday rebuking Rollins as a Washington relic.
"Beltway political strategist Ed Rollins has a long, long track record of taking high profile jobs and promptly sticking his foot in his mouth," Glassner in the statement, provided to Politico and obtained by CNN.
"To no one's surprise he has done it again, while also fueling a contrived narrative about the presidential race by the mainstream media," Glassner said. "One would expect that his woodshed moment is coming and that a retraction will be issued soon."
His "contrived narrative" remark is an apparent reference to reports about an emerging rivalry between Palin and Bachmann, driven in part by their gender but also by the reality that both Republicans share an overlapping political base of social conservatives and grassroots tea party activists.
– On Monday, June 13, CNN will host the first New Hampshire Republican Presidential Debate, live from Manchester, NH at 8 p.m. ET. Follow all the issues and campaign news leading up to the debate on CNNPolitics.com and @cnnpolitics on Twitter.

cat fight ...cat fight... these two are non players...cat fight...cat fight..
WTHE................republicans are such narrow-minded people.
No one's afraid of Palin or Bachmann. The two psycho sisters are not fit to run a PTA meeting let alone a country.
They are both idiots, and couldn't lead a parade correctly. I have nothing against women leading, as long as they can do it professionally, maturely, honestly, and lead by example by speaking with accuracy and disagreeing with due diligence. Palin and Bachmann have not shown that by any standards. The talking points they say, don't have any substance behind them. Even when Bachmann rebuttled the state of the union , her chart wasn't accurate and left out things that disproved everything she was speaking about, they are both a disservice to women who have worked hard, studied hard, and earned their salaries, titles, and positions. Both are extremely immature and prove it everytime they disagree.
I don't know why you two are taking about , because neither Saran Palin Or Michele Bachmann had a chance In Hell of winning. Most American People don't want anything to do with the Tea Party. We learn In Wisconsin, Ohio, Mich. Florida that the Tea Party Is Worst than the Republican party and that isn't saying Much. So you both are fighting a losing battle, they are both IDIOT.
It's about time somebody calls out this LUNATIC Sarah Palin. She is a SIDESHOW, and that's where she belongs. She can't stand NOT being in the limelight hence the BIG BUS GIRL TOUR!!!! AND TO CHARGE MORE FOR HER ILL-ADVISED SPEECHES. I WONDER WHO WOULD SPEND THEIR MONEY TO LISTEN T THIS IDIOT. SHE NEEDS TO INVEST IN ROSETTA STONE FOR ENGLISH!!!
How about all of them just go away. Obama/Biden 2012
Dumb and Dumberer
"Aim a little higher! Aim a little higher!" – Lando Calrissian to Han Solo
2 Political lightweights fighting like middle schoolers, I can hear Sarah's shrill voice now spouting off bumper sticker slogans She has written on Her hand. Can you see either one of these crazies any where near the "RED BUTTON"? SCARY
Ed Rollins working for Michele Bachmann? Reagan is rolling over in his grave while the living (those with brains) have now lost all respect for Rollins. Rarely have I voted for a GOP candidate (only at the local level), so you'd think I'd be happy to see the GOP continue to implode, but I'm not happy. This does not bode well for America. I'm sad Mitch Daniels chose not to run. We need centrist candidates, not ignorant history revisionists like Bachmann and Palin.
My, oh my. The clowns fighting it out.
Both Palin & Bachmann are complete idiots.
Palin and Bachman are both kooks,.. but i would pay a lot of money to see the two of them mud wrestle.
I enjoy reading Ed Rollins as he occasionally shows flashes of uncommon good sense. Why he wishes to soil himself by associating with any of the current candidates is beyond me. Nevertheless, his attempts to help Bachmann aim the gun away from her own foot and toward someone else's will provide a new level of entertainment this primary season. Can hardly wait for the fun to start. What's Sarah Palin waiting for? Come on in; the tea is warm!
gotta love the gloves are flying already
NICE!!!!! Let them duke it out. The GOP is a group of obstructionist and have no solutions for this country. The last 3 years proved they are all talk and do not represent the people. They represent the extreme right and corporations (hedge funds included).
but also by the reality that both Republicans share an overlapping political base of social conservatives and grassroots tea party activists.

Oh come on, stop fighting each other!
There are enough uneducated. backwood yahoos for both of you.
Welcome to Bozo's circus.
pop the popcorn!
OK kids... knock it off. Save your powder for the real fight. Besides, Palin isn't and will not run and Bachmann isn't going to win much of anything.
Who would you rather: Palin or Bachman?
Palin? Bachmann? With the exception of a few IQ points there is no difference. Two people with no clue or real solutions.
If this nonsense keeps up, I will probably one day be able to say that I can see the US from my back yard in Canada!
Why in heaven's name would Rollins want to start a fight between his wingnut candidate and Palin is beyond me. The republican presidential primary is going to be so entertaining. I just saw the the tea party is fractured about supporting Romney. Freedomworks already stated anyone but Romney; another supposed leader of the tea party stated the tea party should back whoever wins even if it is Romney. Sounds like the beginning of a circular firing squad.
These GOP Idiots Palin & Bachmann are killing themselves already! -Thats what you get when you have 2 political prostitutes with no gravitas, no class and no brain...who are in it for the money!!!!
