Washington (CNN) – Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank has some fashion advice for his former governor, Mitt Romney.
The outspoken Democrat told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that the 2012 presidential hopeful has been looking "a little bit underdressed" since his neckties have began disappearing from his campaign stop wardrobe.
"Apparently he has spent so much money that he can no longer afford ties. Poor Mitt has not been seen in a tie in several months, so I am going to take up a collection to buy some ties for Mr. Romney," Frank said on CNN’s “The Situation Room.”
But Frank said that ditching his tie is only the latest of the former governor’s flip-flops.
Frank said he stands by comments he made in 2007 about Romney in which he called the presidential hopeful "an extraordinarily ambitious man with no perceivable political principle whatsoever," and "the most intellectually dishonest human being in the history of politics."
"There's no question - no - he has made it worse. He's flip-flopped even more," Frank said. "I cannot think of a public policy ... the only consistent principle of Mitt Romney is he thinks he should run the world."

When Barney slaps in some teeth, he can criticize ties, or lack of same.
This is one time that Barney Frank is right on! Mitt Romney believes he should run the world, making him a true modern day neo-con republican. These neo-cons have destroyed what was once a fairly decent party. Nows the republican party is controlled by these fanatical extremists who court the Evangelical Christian vote, yet have no moral fiber or conscience whatsoever.
This is the same Romney that lead his state to a 1% job growth rate while the national average was 5%. 48th out of 50 states is pretty PATHETIC. Do I want him for my President? H33L NO!!!!
Aptly stated! Thanks Frank!
Ties are just capitalist nooses anyways. Maybe Romney has converted to communism?
After Barney made his impact on the housing market, the only ones dressing as well as they used to are Bankruptcy lawyers.
Rep. Barney, ( the fudge packer), Frank alias "the pervert," advice bend over I'm right behind you.
I can't think of a single situation that Barney Frank should give advice. Except for maybe "don't be a politician like me".
Dear Congressman Frank, it's time to join the 21st century! Neckties are passe, and are going the way of hats and hankies. It is absolutely refreshing to see a candidate be more concerned about the issues than some archaic fashion rule
Barney is right – Romney will say whatever necessary to become all-powerful. If he succeeds, the real Romney will appear.
Mr. Frank needs to have a full blown investigation of him, and his shameful association with Fannie Mae revealed, and thus put in jail with Mr. Madoff..two peas in a pod..Mr. Frank is no guardian of Americas values or institutions..he is a loud mouth, unrespected government employee of the first kind..Mr. Romney need not fret about this dildo..
Mens fashion advice from Barney Frank?
Dear Congressman Frank, it's time to join the 21st century! Neckties are passe and going the way of hats and hankies. I find it refreshing that a candidate cares more about the issues, than adhering to some archaic fashion rule!
This coming from the sloppiest person on the hill. Barney could make a tux look like a burlap sack.
The only consistent thing about Barney Frank is that he is wrong on everything.
You tell him, Barney! Wooo-Hooo!
"an extraordinarily ambitious man with no perceivable political principle whatsoever ..."
It does explain why a Mormon would ever be pro-choice...
Franks just upset about His stance on Gays, himself being gay. Does anyone really care if he wears a tie or not? What's that got to do with anything. He is leading in all he polls. He's got plenty of money that's he earned mostly by himself. Frank, go get married to some guy in MA, and when you buy some ties for our next President, make sure they are not rainbow in color.
Barney, Barney, Barney, please don't focus on Romney's ties because he'll come right back at you telling you he's focusing on the economy just like you should be. Democrats like myself aren't focused on his tie either.
Frank. Lowlife. Marxist. Personally responsible for a big chunk of the collapse of the housing market. Who cares what this man thinks about anything? He should be in jail.
Open up the doors so all of america can see!
Barney Frank? Barney Frank? No one care-ths.
Who needs your advice, freak?
Sweet!!!!!! Romney's a flip flopper. Now he should quit saying Obama is not doing his job...........................
How th-weet of Barney to care. And he's such a wit too!
