The law will hurt Georgia's economy, particularly the state's farmers. Just the mere threat that the law will be taking effect has already hurt Georgia's farmers. Migrant workers, who perfrom so much of the hard labor in the fields, are scarce this season.

Do you fully understand the history of why we have so many illegal immigants of hispanic descent from south of our borders? They are here because conservative policies made it attractive and easy for them to come here. They were seen as a source of cheap labor that could break unions. Liberals who objected were drowned out as being anti-business. Now that all of the worse liberal predictions have coming true, the same conservatives wish to simply send them all "back home".

I agree with you partially. If an immigrant commits a crime like murder that sends him to prison for life, there's no outcry about breaking up families. The convict cannot see his family, and they can see him if his prison is close by. But, when the crime is illegal immigration and the prescribed justice means deportation people cry foul. Too bad.

Illegal immigrants need to realize that they accepted the risk of deportation in coming here. When you bring your children with you, or bear children in this country, then you are accepting the same risk for those kids. If you are facing deportation where it is uncertain that you will see your kids again, don't blame the system. Blame yourself. You put the kids into the unfortunate circumstance. If you do not respect the laws of this country, then you should be asked to leave. If you are worried about breaking up your family, then you can take your kids and family with you. No one is forcing you to leave them behind. You accepted the risks.

    Rudy –

I'm of the opinion that the possible adverse effects of a particular sector of the economy should not be reason enough to not crack down on an illegal activity. Do you?
