(CNN) - Top fundraisers for Republican Newt Gingrich's presidential campaign resigned Tuesday, the campaign confirmed to CNN.
Fundraising director Jody Thomas and fundraising consultant Mary Heitman left the team. The two defections follow 16 resignations earlier in the month when top aides stepped down over disagreements with the former House Speaker.
Gingrich press secretary RC Hammond said the campaign will continue.
"Newt 2012 continues its reorganization to achieve a grassroots driven substantive solutions orientated campaign," Hammond told CNN. "We wish the members of the finance team who decided to leave the best. The campaign continues forward as committed as ever."

Newt Gingrich is in a state of denial over the reality that his campaign is in a melt down mode. 18 supporters have now left his campaign. Grigrich's campaign was a nonstarter from the beginning and everyone, but Newt, knows it.
It's a miracle Newt had anybody working for him to begin with.

Something is rotten in Denmark, folks. People are bailing out of his campaign faster than they would a house fire. I have never seen anything like before. Kinda makes you wonder if there is something funny with the money. Ya know?
For the sake of Republican party, I hope rivals do not start pounding on the poor guy when he's down. I don't think he's getting back up after this. Republicans cannot win 2012 without Newt. They actually need his voice to serve as a bridge between the hard right and moderate independents needed to win the general election. I can hope for the best, but I am certain they will kick his campaign's carcass aside and push harder to the right.
What is the Republican party turning into when Gingrich is the voice of moderation? Where is it headed? They are taking thier party right off the same cliff that they drove the economy off of.
Newt is just not having a good month.
Newt is starting to understand that running for president takes more effort than spouting propaganda. Newt for a long time has sat on the sideline spouting propaganda and now he understands that the people want more than that and he just doesn't have the energy to follow through. To be president one must connect with all the people not just the most uninformed Fox watchers and once outside his elements, Newt comes off as a moron with a perversed sense of reality. No wonder people are jumping off a sinking ship, Newt will soon give up because he just doesn't have enough common sense and energy to connect with everyday americans.
I guess Newt had better get used to using the Shoe Leather Express to get to events.

A perfect opportunity in the lesson of all of the current GOP candidates:
When you mess up, admit it. Don't blame the media for reporting verbatim what you said, or showing the recording where you actually said it. The fact is, America doesn't want you based on your previous actions, and your previous statements period. Below is everyone who did it to themselves, with nobody to blame but yourself:
O'donnell – did it to yourself, can't blame Bill Maher for showing recordings of what you said, and you can't blame the media for not knowing basic fundementals of governement
Angle – did it to yourself, can't blame the media for showing footage where you told the kids they all look asian, 2nd amendment remedies and swapping healthcare for chickens
Fiona/Whitman – did it to yourself, your records as a CEO job killer did it for you (not to mention whitman's maid)
Newt – your past and your actions during is why your losing. Had you stood up to your party about the atrocity called Ryan plan, you may have had a shot, add that to your actions in the 90s and switching religions, did you in.
Moral of the story, all of the above candidates have one thing in common......they are insulting your intelligence by just repeating policies and badmouthing government just so you can send them money, buy their books, and purchase gold and emergency food based on the TV personalities who support them. Now look at this list and determine who in the current GOP field for president are doing the exact same things. Bachmann, Pawlenty, Santorum, Perry (should he run), Sarah, and especially Romney. Your best bet is to push Paul, Cain, and Huntsman, all others will fail miserably. They don't have an independent thought between them, and all of their policies are proven failures.
Conservatives, if you really want to get Obama out of the whitehouse, hold your candidtates responsible for making incorrect misleading statments, Fox, and conservative radio will not tell you that, the rest of the country whom you need to vote for your candidate doesn't listen to fox and talk radio........they already have your vote regardless.
