(CNN)–President Barack Obama called House Speaker John Boehner before his Wednesday speech to brief the speaker on an impending announcement about the troop drawdown in Afghanistan.
The president is expected to announce the withdrawal of 33,000 troops by the summer of 2012.
I wouldn't give Boehner the courtesy of a call – he'll probably just use the advance time to come up with some nonsensical spin for Fox that trashes – once again – the POTUS.
BTW, when Boehner was asked why he accepted the invitation from President Obama to play golf last week, he replied, "if the president invites me to play golf, it's the president. You don't say no to the president."
Funny coming from a man who has said NO to every request of the President to actually do something FOR the country ... guess us Americans don't rate up there with golf in Boehner's book ...
I hope that Obama told Boener to shut his piehole and go play some more golf , drink another gin & tonic or smoke another cigarette on his law.
Boehner: 'Break a leg..... literally.'
need more than that...and 2112 way, way ,way to far out...what wrong with 2011....
Obama should not have bothered Boehner, he may have been working on that one job he is going to create this year.
President Obama is a classy, and intelligent chess player.
Meanwhile Boo-Hoo is clutching tightly onto his little checker pieces. Petty and ridiculous caricature of a man that he is.
He's probably sitting there smugly, albeit cluelessly, thinking: "Obama is calling ME before his speech".
Obama is pulling your strings Boehner like the cheap and brainless puppet that you are.
Buy a clue.
Orrrrr......maybe you agreed to work better together after the golf outing. Our President is very smooth. Anything is possible.

Speaker Boehner has done an excellent job representing the people who sent him to his current position and finally getting things done for Americans outside of Washington DC. To start with, he was responsible for getting Obama and Reid to reduce the 2011 federal government budget by $100 billion. That was quick and huge. And he has not forgotten what he was sent there to do. Can you say that about Obama? I don't think so.
