(CNN) – Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann formally announced her candidacy for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination Monday during an appearance in Waterloo, Iowa - the city where she was born.
Bachmann, a Tea Party favorite currently serving her third term in the House, told a crowd of supporters that Barack Obama's presidency has been a failure. She promised to lead a new conservative revolution characterized by smaller government and a lower federal debt.
Four and Door and Mr. Democrat Hypocrisy... Are both of you paid shills for the Republican Party? All you guys do is sit on these blogs and constantly critisize the President. Well, since you offer NOTHING contructive at all, the joke's on you. If you think tax cuts, deregulation, and cutting social safety net programs along with busting unions are the way out of this I pity you. Your total lack of compassion for your fellow Americans is astounding. Why don't both of you just take your stupid comments and stuff them. Good for nothing punks. The president is doing his best given the circumstances. HE WILL BE RE-ELECTED. Then you both can comiserate together like we all had to when W was re-elected in 2004 because of non-thinking fools like you.
Let us see how long it takes Palin to jump in and steal her glory!
Just a little background information for those of you who do not live in Minnesota (Michele's home state now). Michele B. has been relected 2 times in a district that is basically the shape of a long triangle starting with wide end furthest away from the twincities of Mpls and St. Paul then as the triangle comes to a point it stops abruptly and complets a downward facing "C" to avoid the cities and stay in the "rich and well off suburbs". Which lines were drawn by a Republican dominated congress and Republican governor. These boundaries were drawn to win elelctions based on political parties. The outcome is that this "district" is so far to the right that the persons they elect are actually only a reflection of less than 20% of the totall population of MN's leanings....I mean be real MN is a "Blue state" that should tell all of you something. Michele is a whacko who doesn't understand history, political process, nor what "America" consists of from sea to shining sea. She only understands what the right wing Christian fundamentalists know and want. She only understands what the middle aged white man wants. As Bill Maher said this weekend "Middle aged White men like to vote for things that give them a "B O N E R" and she does that for them. That is why she is in office. She is a non-compromising idiot who has won power given by a small minority of MN voters. I hope she wins the primary so President Obama can debate her and show America just how stupid she is.
I would vote for her just because she is smoking hot! Anyone is better than the current clown in the Whitehouse. Obozo!
Obama would wipe the floor with this imbecile. The lady is a moron, so she is a perfect candidate for the right wingnuts. She is dense, arrogant, shallow, superficial, and totally in lust with herself. In essence, she is the perfect Republican candidate.
I hate the whole republican party politics. I was a republican at first but I will not be voting for any of them EVER!!! All they do is SAY WHAT OBAMA ISN'T DOING. Everytime the president tries to do something here come these dumb republicans knocking it down not even trying to see if he plans could work. Republicans are selfish and have a big stick up ther butt!!!!!!!!!!
Honestly !! As far as a woman president, it's like wearing a target. How many terroist attacks would we get when a woman is named president. Might as well kill ouselves. It doesn't matter who's president, black or white it's all the same. As being a Native American, were at the bottom of the totem pole..
lord help us....what a total loser....oh well it just assures another 4 years of Obama....and maybe the old geezer GOP party will actually let the man do his job!!!
THANK YOU for announcing your plans to run. The more right wing flakes that throw their hat in will make it that much easier for the left to mop the floor with.
FUNNY and very entertaining. You Libs are scared to death of her, your comments have FEAR written all over them. HAHA, you've been challenged and so has your god Obama! Go Michele!
I'll admit Bachmann says some interesting things. I don't question, at all, her commitment to her country and her base. I respect her as an American. But her views are far to hijacked by the Tea Party for me to accept her.
Seriously, she wants a Constitutional Amendment on the definition of marriage? Come on, Michelle. For every step forward, you take a few steps back and then fall squarely on your bum...
Come on sheeple. Does anyone take this flake seriously? Even people at Fox are wondering if she is a flake. If you are taking flake and bake seriously then you need to schedule the labotomy now. I will be praying for alien abduction if she gets elected.
Ha! Would people really vote for her? Seriously? She has a few great 30 second sound-bites that get the repubs all riled up. But, when it comes down to it she is really quite dumb. Just like Palin. Just cuz you look good on camera does NOT make you presidential material. Does anyone really think she could lead our country??? God help us all.
I love the comments from people who are so shocked and upset about all the hateful, sexist, mean spirited comments posted here. I mean have you really never met and talked to a Democrat before?
Face it if Ann Coulter became a Democrat she would be the nicest most honest liberal on the planet.
It is no secret what every Democrat in this country would love to do to every American right of center. They call themselves Democrats, but the label is meaningless, all National Socialists are the same. The Republicans will forever be the party of morals, values, decency, integrity, and true compassion thanks to the Soros-bots that own the Democrat hate party.
Read the comments here, the Democrat party has actually gotten even more hateful and closed-minded since they started cutting eye holes out of their white bed sheets in the 19th Century.
"There are hundreds and hundreds of scientists, many of them holding Nobel Prizes, who believe in intelligent design." –Michele Bachmann
Just so eveybody is on the same page:
If you are conservative and anything but a white male, to the progressives you are "stupid", "crazy", or both. Sit back and watch the main stream media "Palinise" Mrs Bachmann. You see, the left has masterfully created this insane belief that conservatives are "mean", "corporatist", "racist", "sexist", etc. Therefore, how could you possibly be conservative if you don't fit the talking points?
Ready for the White House, but not ready to debate a High School student about constitutional issues. Bachmann needs to be able to take on those smarty pants to-young-to-vote citizens before she tries to sit in the big chair.
Wow, If this twit were elected I would renounce my citizenship and move to Canada, at least I would get health care and a clean country.
Sorry .... very little intelligence in this one.
Michele Bachmann is the very reason I'm gay. She had a nice round of applause, from 5 people when she announced. She wouldn't even get elected again to the House, let a lone to the Presidency. I would love for a reporter to say – "Quick, 23 Amendment – what does it say?" You would hear crickets....or better yet, a new version of the Paul Revere story. She is a disgrace and I agree with the above – she's a media freak – she wants her mug on every newspaper in this country. Why is it that everytime she speaks, all I can hear is the Ocean?
@Fergy- you want to back your statement up with some facts. Were you asleep from 2000-2008?
I truely wonder who votes people in like her. Those folks in the midwest seem friendly enough are they really that brainwashed but their locla politicain and the clergy or is it they just want to go back to the 1950s and that is never going to happen !
As a libertarian I cannot vote for Bachman. The Tea Party started out as a libertarian movmement but was quickly highjacked by the religious right. If you believe in the freedoms of this country you should not vote for anyone running on religious beliefs. I will be sure to vote against her in the primaries.
We are talking about the same woman who did not want people to fill out their census or American Community Survey. If Minnesota's population was less than expected, we would have lost a congressional seat. Guess whose seat that was? You guessed it, Michele Bachmann.
