WASHINGTON (CNN) – President Barack Obama will hold a previously unscheduled news conference on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. ET in the East Room of the White House, spokesman Jay Carney announced.
The news conference comes as Obama faces mounting unhappiness over the U.S. economic performance, as well as controversy over his refusal to seek congressional authorization for U.S. participation in the NATO-led military campaign in Libya.
I'm not happy about Libya, but our President still has my vote come 2012. Things have been up and down and up and down during his first term, but I think he is a solid leader overall.
As for the economy: We were losing 750,000 jobs per month, millioms were losing their homes and the stock market nearly crashed( ALL BEFORE OBAMA EVEN TOOK OFFICE ). As for Libya: If the President would've taken the time to seek Congessional Authorization He would've been bashed for dithering while thousands of innocent Libyains were killed or moving forward like he did and getting bash anyway. Dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. TYPICAL GOP PLAYING BOTH SIDES OF THE FENCE.
i hear he's going to announce he and crazy joe's resignation
Will he announce that he's handing over the presidency to Ralph Nader? Otherwise I don't care.
He will announce that as chief executive, he will be issuing an executive order that withholds pay for Congress in the event we reach our National credit limit.
I have better things I'll be doing. Why waste my time watching this empty suit.
Maybe he is resigning.
Great, another lecture.
Mr. President you have averted an economic disaster and I can't understand why some keep on bashing you may be it's something which comes with the job. But the major problem we are facing is from those naysayers causing the lack of consumer confidence with the market. The economics social sides is all about emotions and whenever those Republicans running for the office open their baggy mouths about overspending! and big government takeover the more it affects the market. We the public have very short memory especially when we are facing economic difficulties, but lets give credit where its due! under Obama the rate of jobs lost compared to the last two years under G.W.Bush is very few!!. Sir, consult with the chamber of commerce how to instill back confidence in the market. Moreover, give incentives to the corporations which wants to bring jobs back home. The debt ceilling deadlock with the Republicans, is sending jitters to the rest of the world. Yesterday China signed a billion dollars trade with UK, today they signed another one with German, which means they want to pull through with their initial plan of doing away with the dollar!! something have to be done and quickly! otherwise the Republicans will ruin the Nation then blame it on the First African/American President!!
Perhaps one reporter will pretend like he's/she's an actual journalist and ask a serious question! If most of these lib reporters were baseball pitchers, their ERAs would be in the hundreds because of the under-handed, very slow pitches that they throw to our current POTUS!
