Appeals court upholds health care law

(CNN) - A federal appeals court in Cincinnati has ruled in favor of the Obama administration and Congress, ruling a key provision in the sweeping health care reform bill passed last year was constitutional.

The "individual mandate" requiring nearly all Americans purchase health insurance by 2014 or face financial penalties - was challenged in federal courts by a large number of individuals and groups, saying people should not be forced to purchase a product like health insurance. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit panel disagreed.

"We find that the minimum coverage provision is a valid exercise of legislative power by Congress under the Commerce Clause," said the three-judge panel on Wednesday, in a 64-page opinion.

The article did not give any specifics, it just said that it didn't violate the commerce clause. The heck it doesn't!

Obamacare will not stand. It will be repealed early in 2013 and signed by President Romney and bury the most damaging, partisan legislation ever enacted.

Sorry children, there's no such thing as free healthcare. It's not a right. Never has been. You want healthcare? Go pay for it yourself like you are supposed to. Quit looking to the gobmint to save you! That's not the job of the federal govt. and never has been!

WHY would someone not want to have health insurance? What a dumb assumption...that "big government" wants to force people to do something.

So what's the alternative righties? People should have to go bankrupt or sell their house / property to pay medical bills. Good grief.....get a grip.

    FYI

Jusice Martin – Carter appointee...upheld the mandate

Justice Sutton – DUBYA apopintee...upheld the mandate

    Justice Graham – Reagan appointee...dissented

Now, all the little weasels crying that this was a liberal court appionted by liberals engaged "activism" can STFU. Dubya didgave us Roberts and Alito for crying out loud, two of the most activist conservatiev Justices ever to sit on the SCOTUS bench and who have all but guaranteed the death of the middle-class and the country's descent into corporate plutocracy. So don't go saying "Dubya was a liberal" either. He was jsut as much of corproate wh-re as the rest of the GOP is today and spent just as much energy working the Krischun Nashun angle as a sedative and blinder to cloud the GOP bases' eyes to his corporate wh-ring.

  9. S. In California - Obama 2012

I happen to like and plan to keep my coverage. My 20 year old otherwise would not have any insurance. If anyone thinks for one moment I wouldn't fight to keep it they are sadly mistaken. People are so nasty and mean they would cut off their noses to spite their faces just because they don't (personally) like our president. Go right ahead but KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MINE. Thank you Mr. President.

It is absolutely amazing that the so called "middle class" can so often be convinced that cutting taxes for Corporations and the wealthy etc is all that is needed to "fix" everything.......what Obambi and the Libs/Dems are doing is forcing the heavy loads of repairing the economy onto the backs of the Middle Class. How , you ask; IE: large Oil companies will take the hit of higher taxes and simply "pass them on to the Middle Class". Higher taxes will be considered a cost of doing business, the results; HIGHER PRICES AT THE PUMP!
I know; good ole Obambi doesn't think so.....OF COURSE HE DOES! He and all his cronies KNOW what will happen and the truth is.....he does NOT care! Obambi is in full campaign mode, doing what he knows best.....campaigning!
Entitlements MUST be addressed and yes, at some point in time someone must take a cut in Social Secuirty and Medicare.....why not take care of our older folks now and plan for those 55 and below to be phased out so this country can be great again? The consequences of allowing all the Takers to keep taking now......GREECE! And do not think it cannot happen here......here it will be worse!
Bankrupting this great country is NOT worth re electing this empty suit.....Obambi!

    ================================================================================================
So these buffoons think there is absolutely no limit on the power of the federal government as defined by the Commerce Clause? Well then the American people need to change that or there WILL be a second revolution in this country. We are a FREE people and the government does nor own our lives and our property or our paychecks. It will be time to re-establish the boundaries and limitations of this over bearing government.
