RNC to Obama: You're taking the country off a cliff

(CNN) - A new ad from the Republican National Committee Wednesday blames President Obama's "left turn after left turn" for the current state of the economy.

The 30-second spot will air nationally on cable television, notably in battleground states, throughout the month. It uses a crashing car metaphor to make the case for a Republican president in 2012.

"America's headed the wrong way fast - six million foreclosures, 14 trillion in debt, 500 billion in higher taxes and the worst long-term unemployment in generations," the ad says. "Don't let Obama drive us to disaster, change direction."

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said his organization "intends to challenge Barack Obama in every state on his failed economic leadership right up until Election Day."

"Republicans have already changed the conversation in Washington, but with the President unwilling to remove the country from its unsustainable course, it's time to change direction," Priebus said in a statement.

Brad Woodhouse, communications director for the Democratic National Committee, said Republicans are trying to "mislead voters about the state of the economy."

"While the President continues to fight to clean up an economic mess that was years in the making, Republicans would rather run negative ads than offer positive ideas," Woodhouse said in a statement.

Almost every major economic indicator has gotten worse since Obama took office. Higher unemployment, massive debt and anemic GDP growth. (Blame Bush here).

Give repugs control and we loose Medicare, Social Security, America's middle class, our once-superior infrastructure. We will have richer wealthy people, though. The repugs will still add to the debt, with reduced taxes for the rich and none for business.

Sounds like a solution to the illegal immigration problem: Turn the USA into Mexico and they'll quit coming

The Republicans absolutley pander to stupidity, and the stupid people are the only ones they can foll with their lies and ads. Republicans are so far out of touch with reality, they think in this day and age that Americans are too stupid to research the truth. Americans are much smarter then Republicans hoped they would be and all these years of lies and destroying the country will backfire like never before in the next election. Republicans have been destroying and distorting Americans far too long and people just wont fall for their lies come 2012. In 2011 it is not that hard to research and find facts and that will be the demise of the lying Republicans in 2012

2010 campaign slogan was, "The president just does'nt get it, it's about Jobs, Jobs, Jobs." If these cuts in federal spending all go through, how many jobs are going to be created by it, or how many jobs are going to be lost because of it?

Lets hear from all the sheep. Its never Obama's fault but we have had 2.5 years of failure. Unemployment basically has been unabated flying past the 8% number he promised while inflation & energy prices have gone through the roof. This ad is gentle compared to what it should be because as long as Obama is President I do not see any major changes.

This commercial doesn't have anything on the Paul Ryan throwing grandma off the ledge of a cliff video. The RNC can;t be original when it comes to anything.

The RNC should very seriously rethink this kind of 7th grade behavior. So far, all I've heard from the republicans is Obama bashing. They haven't put forth any action that would show me that they can do better, or that they even have another idea.

Republicans are the kids who needed one more (or one less) beating in school. What a bunch of douche bags. Counting on the ignorance of the American people to forget just who it was who drove the car off the cliff in the first place. Fix our tax policy, pinheads! Tax the rich, tax the corporations who are taking jobs overseas, and do the job you were hired to do whcih is look after all our citizens, not just the rich ones. Otherwise, historically speaking, revolution is just around the corner. When that happens, tar and feathers will be the least of your worries!

It's about time that this is being done, this should have been done during the 2008 mid term elections. Today there would be a "Republician House and Senate". The time is now to put the heat on Obama. It is a known fact that when it statrs getting to hot for Obama he either gets out of town or he goes on vacation. Now is the time to keep the heat on Obama and the Democrates and even some Republicians. Obama and Congress think the American people are not smart enough to understand what is going on and the problems the United States is facing. Well we do the President and Congress would be suprised to see how well informed the American People are. This ad should be run on nationa TV also no cable TV. The more the American People see what Obama and the Democratic Senate has done the "Change that Obama talks about will happen in November 2012. When the new President is walking Obama out of the White House and saying "Good Bye".

They are trying to steal a page from his playbook. Remember they are the one who drove the economy into a ditch. And they wanted to take control of the car after it was run into the ditch in order to drive it further into a bigger hole. Such LIARS, who have no shame at all.

Please explain to me how actual job growth, and actual GDP growth, stable stock market and higher consumer confidence index from when Pres. Obama took office is "driving us off the cliff". If anything, we were already over the cliff and if Pres. Obama hadn't taken the steps that he did we would have "crashed and burned"!...I can't believe that Republicans can even run these ads with a straight face...You've got to be some kind of slimeball to even agree to produce such a pack of lies....sickening.

"Well, America, this is the 'change' Obama promised you. How are you liking it so far?"
    **************************
I'm liking it a lot better than anything I have heard from the Teacans, and certainly better than what GWB gave us for
eight years. I prefer leaders who consult, listen to options, make decisions on a level-headed basis and not from
threats, coersion, selfishness, greed, and ignorance. Thanks for asking!

I think they got that wrong Bush and most of the current republicans are the ones WHO DID TAKE THE COUNTRY OVER THE CLIFF. The Democrats and President Obama are trying to claw our way back up. But with all the obstructions by the republicans and the banks and corporations we are having a terrible time digging in.

If the republicans were the only ones on the cliff floor real Americans would rejoice but we are there with them. For example the dumb butts have voted to stop inspecting our fruits and vegetables from overseas and here, because it cost the corporations too much money to check them. So I wish with all my heart that only republicans and their families would be the ones to eat those fruits and vegetables. And if anything happened it would be their fault.

To those who thought McCain was a fool to select Palin for his VP, it was all a part of the Big Plan, as seen in this ad.

The repugs have (had) NO SOLUTION to the economic crisis, so they throw the election in the most sure-fire way: select Palin. Then, when the Dems get control, they block all efforts to turn the country around (they failed) and move forward (they succeeded), and then BLAME OBAMA FOR EVERYTHING!!

    Linda in AZ,

This state pretty much has the political makeup that you described (Rupublican leadership.), and I will tell you honey, AZ has got to be the worst example of a strong productive America. The educational system sucks, the status quo here created the immigration problem, not to mention all the crazy yahoos that support the drug cartels in Mexico by selling them guns illegally and maintaining their insatiable taste for drugs. Oh, the infrastructure is lousy; this state should be leading the WORLD in solar energy. I could go on, but it's too d@!*$% sickening.
