Please call out those cry-baby Republicans again. PLEASE!!!! I have never seen such immaturity by elected officials until recently. Say goodbye to the Grover pledge. It is not binding to the voting public b/c we never asked for it.
Get this deal done already and let the taxes on the rich begin. They have not hired so there is no excuse for them to avoid paying their fair share.

The US budget under Obama is estimated at 7.5 trillion dollars over the next 10 years. If you want to put our children and grandchildren reponsible for our debt, then you are not just selfish but also idiots. You want government to provide everything then give the government your paycheck and see what you get for it. Also if social security checks are not sent out, that means the government has lied about it being solvent and the only way to keep it the same way as it is now is to raise payroll taxes on everyone. Pass a cap, cut and balanced budget amendment.

I'm hoping he brings a different demeanor this time; Without the baseless threats to the American people. He's lost a lot of support because of his childish antics. It's time he starts thinking of the people instead of "his party".

Hey lesson obama you need to stand strong, I am tired of these repugs and their voodoo politics talking points. They want to give corporations money money when they know that money either stay one place or it does the trickle sideway thing and goes over seas. This the problem America is having. When the money goes up to these big corporations it is staying there. If you gave the the lower down the money that money have the chance to circulate in the local small businesses for a while, going through a lot of folks hands until it makes it way up the ladder to big corporations, at this point the money either go with the rest of 3 trillion dollars on the sidelines or it get invested in china, building china into a super power while we are losing our power. we will have problem with china in the future "since we can have only one super power", thanks to the greedy rich folks and their repug defenders.

As the Chief Executive, who took an oath to preserve, protect & defend the Constitution of the United States, President Obama will be announcing, at some point, the tangible moves required to prepare for the "downsizing" of government operations that this debt ceiling crisis is forcing. He won't wait until August 2, 2011 to take those steps.

This speech may be about that. For example, I'm sure all the checks we cut are computer driven automatically. He may have to direct the Treasury to implement a means to segment check generation into particular groups like: payments [principal & interest] on maturing government bonds, payments to soldiers, payments to seniors, payments for non-essential Federal employees, payments for Congressional salaries [a subset of non-essential employees], payments on M1A1 tanks to DOD contractor General Dyanamics [in John Boehner's district] etc. Once done, the government will be in a practical position to holdback / delay / eliminate some of these payments until such time as the money is available from additional borrowing.

This isn't politics; it's management. It's what an executive has to do. Remember all you rightwing Obama-haters deriding him and calling for "someone who has run a business"? Well, this is what a businessman would do. I'm willing to bet if Obama doesn't talk about it on Friday, that notice will be coming next week.

Your move Messrs. Cantor, Boehner, McConnell. Dummy up Ms. Bachmann, Ms. Palin, Mr. Romney, Mr. Gingrich, Mr. Pawlenty, Mr. Santorum, Mr. Paul, Mr. Cain. I suspect Mr. Huntsman will begrudingly admit that the Republicans have not left the President a choice.

The deadbeat Congress really needs the President to put the pressure on them and expose them for not taking this issue seriously enough.

We need a REAL solution, not political theatrics to appease the lunatic fruit loops that don't even know what the facts are.

This could be interesting. Obama's going to make good on his threat to Cantor to "take this to the American people". No doubt Obama wants to frame this as a choice between a tax hike on the top few versus cutting off Grannie's dialysis. Most of the people are in favor of tax hikes of some sort as part of an overall solution, so if Obama plays it right he can bring huge pressure on the republicans. I wonder what sort of questions the Fox representative will ask?
