Palin raises over $1.6 million

(CNN) - Sarah Palin's political action committee raised over $1.6 million in the first half of 2011, according to a report set to be released Thursday.

She now has approximately $1.4 million cash on hand despite having spent almost $1.6 million over the same period, according to Sarah PAC. But the funds raised cannot be used for a potential run for the White House in 2012.

The PAC contributed $65,000 to other candidates and donated $18, 700 to the Young America's Foundation, during the same period.

"We at Sarah PAC are very pleased and grateful for the tremendous support that Governor Palin receives from everywhere across our country," Tim Crawford, treasurer for Sarah PAC said. "Sarah PAC more than doubled the amount we raised as compared to the same time period in 2009. We received more that 36,700 contributions from over 24,000 contributors."

Palin is still deciding whether to run for president in the next election and has said she will make a decision in the next few months.

24,000 suckers...I find it hard to believe that many people donated to her when she isn't even running for anything and only served as Gov. for a half-term before quitting and was a mayor of a tiny village

Just today CNN took yet another undeserved slam against Palin. Basted her because she commented "Americans need to reload with reality".
CNN had a hysterical fit because Palin wasn't taking in consideration what happened to Gabby.

Yet cry baby Pres. goes on TV and clearly states "Republicans have a gun to American people's head."

    Sick minds, sick hearts.
I now understand what the soldiers mean when they say CNN means Communist News Network. Talk about having an agenda, shame on you CNN for selling America out and feeding us such lies for your Pres.

What a lame PAC and what a lame group of GOP contenders. The President's war chest is more than all of theirs combined.

1.4 million in the first half of the year???? Wow! Let's see. Obama raised $10 million within 24 hours. Don't spend it all in one place. Maybe, since you are so bright and...(excuse me, I was throwing up), you could fix our fiscal problems with that. Or, or you can teach us how to budget, much like you were teaching us about history...hahahahahahaha...Sarah, get educated and grow up and while you are at it see if you can teach your daughter the value of an education (of course after you've learned that yourself).

What is the fraction of 1.6 million compared with 86 million raised by the President. If I was Sarah I would not even dare to annoumce anything, as she is not obliged to do so.

Palin should have to donate it to a charity (non-Republican). This money was gathered under false pretenses. Palin is NOT running for President and is just out trying to get as much money for herself personally as she can before she finally becomes irrelevant. She is not a leader just a lunatic in need fo constant attention to her ego.

Ms Sarah, I have nothing to say to you. From all the blogs I've read, people are just feed up with you. From now on, I will not write anything sarcatic or otherwise about you. From now on I will only say, "Would you please leave the room." If everyone did this, I believe you would either go away or came back with some common sense. Also, this goes for the run of the mouth, Michele B.

Wow – did she walk into a mental hospital, and tell a bunch of financially-endowed patients that she's really Santa Claus, and that she needs money to build a new toy factory?

To all those who donated to this stunning example of sheer stupidity ... your donations would be better used by your local food bank, the Red Cross, the United Way, the tornado/flood victims in the Dakotas and the Midwest, etc etc etc. For God sake, help those who honestly need help and the head loon of the Republican looney bin.

well some on the right complained about Obama raising so much money during the high unemployment and state of the economy, well are they going to gripe about this as well? At least Obama has a chance to be POTUS whereas Palin has about a chance as a snowball in H E double hockey sticks.

Am I kissing something here? I was looking for any city in MD with 24,000 inhabitants and the closest I could get to is College Park.
If their figures are correct they take in 36,700 contriutions fro over 24,000 contributors. That means that she has at least 12,700 complete morons giving her money more than once.
She is really not giving a lot of that money to anyone else but how else is she going to finish her family vacation (minus the prop child, of course) with a mere $1M. This is another cry for more money for her to waste on something she will never accomplish!!!

If, by law, these monies CAN NOT be used for a Palin presidential bid, why does this headline say "Palin has raised ___ ?"

CNN advertisers, stop paying advertising for the number of "click-thoughs" that are registered. I'm not about to pay any advertiser that I find on a Palin page. She is THAT divissive.

Let's see, if raising $1.4 million over six months is an example of "tremendous support," then what do we call the President's raising of $86 in the past three months?

Massive ,humogous, galactic support, perhaps? :)
