Palin's advice on debt ceiling: 'Reload with reality'

(CNN)-Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin had sharp words for both President Obama and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell late Wednesday as she criticized their handling of the looming debt ceiling deadline.

"It's absolutely nonsensical the lack of planning that our leaders are exercising and showing their constituents coming out of D.C. right now," she said.

The 2008 GOP nominee for vice president pulled no punches in an appearance on Fox News when it came to the actions of the president, whom she blamed for "big government job killing policies" and "fearmongering tactics" or McConnell, who proposed a short term plan she claimed "makes no sense."

"It does cede power to our president and takes away that authority that is inherent in Congress to control the economic decisions that have to be made when it comes to debt," Palin said of McConnell's short-term strategy to increase the debt ceiling in three increments.

"We cannot afford to back off and hand him a white flag saying, 'Here Mr. President we trust you you take over, you do it' because our president has failed in that area," she continued.

And though there's blame to go around, for Palin, the buck stops with Obama.

"Our president is essentially suggested the other day that he's not able to prioritize, as the chief executive of our nation he can't prioritize," she stated.

Palin, who said she'll decide on a bid for the 2012 GOP nomination for president by August or September, also gave advice to Republicans engaged in debt negotiations with the executive-in-chief.

"We cannot default but we cannot afford to retreat either, now is not the time to retreat. It's the time to reload and we reload with reality," she said.

Of course she'd love the US to default on its debt. Her husband is an anti-American, secessionist traitor. The downfall of the US might lead to his dream of an independent Alaska (until Russia finally invades it and takes it back, hopefully sticking people like her in gulags.).

Palin is trying to learn a new word every day and use it in a sentence. Today's word: "constituents."

This is the woman who wasted 100's of millions on a gasline deal with Canada, put the Alaska budget into crisis, and quit partway through her job as governor because she hated the job. What makes her think she has the right to blast any politician anywhere? I've watched her shenanigans in Alaska since the mid-90's, and I have a deep seated mistrust of her motives and abilities. As an Alaskan voter, I wish she would just retire quietly to Arizona and leave politics to the people who actually want to take responsilbility and work on the issues rather than spread hate and discontent where ever she goes.

The ignorance displayed by many commenters here shows a disgusting level of MSM lemming like group think. Hey guys, your knowledge of Palin comes from progressive tools who simply want to destroy Conservatives. She didn't quit her job. She was hounded out by a series of baseless progressive law suits for which she had to pay for her defense personally, all of which were thrown out. She kicked Exxon's ass, put corrupt politicians from both sides of the isle in jail, and inked the languishing Trans-Canada pipeline agreement in just a couple of years. The fact you guys think she's an idiot kind is an indicator of your own stupidity, that or an sign you get your news from the truly stupid like Chris Mathews. I can't wait till she kicks Obama's ass back to the community organizing curb where it belongs. I'm Canadian and I'm embarrassed for the US at the marxist tool you've elected.

Why does anyone pay attention to this air head rhetoric machine who is 0% solutions and 100% criticism. She bloated the debt in Wasilla from what, 2M to over 20M and left Alaska after quitting her responsibilities with increased debt and spending. For the sake of the Country the media needs to start ignoring the ignorant.

Wow, she really likes her gun metaphors, doesn't she. Hopefully some crazies won't take it too seriously and pay uninvited visits to the homes/offices of representatives with whom they disagree...

Also, it's too bad that "compromise" nowadays means "retreat."

In other words "I have no substantive ideas or a plan of my own....so I'll just trash the people who have to actuallly LIVE in the reality that I'm referring to." This is a crisis that requires our president and our congressional leaders to take brave and conciliatory steps to protect the interests of this country – not to protect the ideologically rabid party bosses from either party.

Remember, Palin still works for Fox News Channel, which means she is getting paid to recite scripted material. Working for FNC also means that she cannot announce a candidacy for POTUS until after she has left FOX. In fact, to keep the money "clean" she shouldn't announce until 90 days *after* she has left FNC. That is what both Santorum and Gingrich did after they left FNC.

She'll let us know if she's going to run by August...or September

That would be six weeks from now. Which would mean that any announcement in that short time frame from today, there can be only one possible answer.

No. She is not running, if she actually makes an announcement six weeks from now. She needs some 'dead time' between leaving FNC and actually entering the race. Try a quarter on for size, which means 3 months.

Why is this uninformed person's opinion newsworthy?

"Reload with reality"? Does Palin always have to speak in slogans?

Once again – all complaints, and no solutions.

I can't wait until her tea bagger followers realize she and her family got some really nice trips on their dime, after she announces that she is not running for president, and gets to keep all of their money. Can you say PUNK'D?!

Good Lord, will she just ever shut up. I can't understand for the life of me why she is even important enough to keep talking about. God, I just want her to go back to Alaska and stay there and keep her mouth shut. Am I asking too much?

Ok Mrs. Moe Ron what would you do to fix the debt ceiling? Oh, that's right, you don't have any brains, just one big mouth. Unless you have the answer, then we don't need to hear from you. In fact, you never have an answer, just some retarded remark to try to keep your name in the headlines. And if you ever do come up with an answer, I'd do the exact opposite....

Don't blame Big John. Palin was too ambitous to not enter the national spotlight. She was already Gov. of Alaska and already trying to draw attention to herself. Why do think McCain noticed her in the first place?

No, McCain probably sped up the process by a few months. She would have risen to national limelight from out of nowhere just like Michele Bachmann has done.

Really! Does anyone really care what this quitter thinks! Come on America! This woman is in this for the money and nothing else. Why do you think she quit her job? Why do we continue to care what this idiot thinks? Is this really what politics has come to......such a shame.....New Flash...BOTH SIDES HAVE TO GIVE ON THIS ONE!

Do we really need to be constantly reminded of Palin's position as the 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate, or is this a feeble attempt to lend credibility to an otherwise irrelevant and content starved wind bag?

  25. Maybe this

Reporter: "Mr. President, do you have a response to what Sarah Palin stated about you today, blaming you with 'big government job killing policies' and 'fearmongering tactics'?

President Obama: "Yes, I do have a response to Ms. Palin. Sarah... you're an idiot. Next question."
