Palin's advice on debt ceiling: 'Reload with reality'

(CNN)-Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin had sharp words for both President Obama and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell late Wednesday as she criticized their handling of the looming debt ceiling deadline.

"It's absolutely nonsensical the lack of planning that our leaders are exercising and showing their constituents coming out of D.C. right now," she said.

The 2008 GOP nominee for vice president pulled no punches in an appearance on Fox News when it came to the actions of the president, whom she blamed for "big government job killing policies" and "fearmongering tactics" or McConnell, who proposed a short term plan she claimed "makes no sense."

"It does cede power to our president and takes away that authority that is inherent in Congress to control the economic decisions that have to be made when it comes to debt," Palin said of McConnell's short-term strategy to increase the debt ceiling in three increments.

"We cannot afford to back off and hand him a white flag saying, 'Here Mr. President we trust you you take over, you do it' because our president has failed in that area," she continued.

And though there's blame to go around, for Palin, the buck stops with Obama.

"Our president is essentially suggested the other day that he's not able to prioritize, as the chief executive of our nation he can't prioritize," she stated.

Palin, who said she'll decide on a bid for the 2012 GOP nomination for president by August or September, also gave advice to Republicans engaged in debt negotiations with the executive-in-chief.

"We cannot default but we cannot afford to retreat either, now is not the time to retreat. It's the time to reload and we reload with reality," she said.

HAHA! This is awesome. Just like Iraq, Wall Street, the debt-ceiling fight, the ledges that have tied the GOBPs hands, Sarah Palin is ANOTHER example of how often the GOBP creates monsters it can't control. Now, this time, it's got Palin, Bachmann, and other tards to deal with who actually BELIEVED the lie that letting America default won't be a big deal. Boehner and McConnell are the kind of people who just say that because they're trying to play hardball with the White House, knowing that a deal must be done(that's why McConnell just raised a white flag about it). But the idea was that people with brains kinda KNEW they were just posturing. The tea tards DON'T know these things, and now they've started to eat the people who created them. I LOVE it! I LOVE watching Repugnants fall over themselves trying to stop the train wrecks they create, and I LOVE watching them suffer for what they do. They made Bush a president and he humiliated the whole party so bad even a WHITE man couldn't win the White House in '08. They started Iraq, and the military started to collectively turn on our leadership. They pumped up the tea tards, and now the party is paralyzed in DC. And then there's Palin. The more chaotic the party looks, the more INDEPENDENTS and MODERATES they'll lose, just like McCain and his "erratic" behavior did before. Keep up the good work GOBP! Obama/Biden 2012!!

I hope the Bible is right, and hope that the rapture comes soon. It would be worth dealing with the Antichrist just to get Sarah off this planet.

In a word, incomprehensible. Comments like Governor Pailin's shed darkness instead of light and sow confusion among her supporters. The "reality" with which she chooses to reload ignores the facts on the nground. The Constiution requjires the Federal Government to maintain th full faith and credit of the United States- no ifs, and or buts. The 4th clause of the 14th Amendment was enacted to bar Congress from using the threat of not funding the payment of the govenrmenjt's debt as an instrument of political bargaining. In a global economic system, default by the United States upon the timely repayment of debt is anathema. Like a first strike nuclear option, no nation seeking its own survival dare be the first to push the button. The retaliatory consequences are too horible to contemplate. With the Tea Party and its Congerssional advocates, zealotry has driven reason from its throne.

Anyone who believes she smart must also believe taht the moon is madeof gren cheese. All you Palin supporters need to ask yourselves 1 question: Since you hate Obama so much, how bad would you ridicule him if he quit as governor? In other words, if he pulled a Palin!

Sarah Palin knows alot about debt..........After all when she was the Mayor of Wallisa she cut property taxes by 75% increase spending, asked the federal goverment to pay for it, and increased the city's debt from 1 million to 25 million!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So hey why don't we earmark another 442 million to build another bridge to nowhere!

August or September to decide if she is getting in? She is soooo indecisive – doesnt sound like presidential material.

Poor Sarah, she know she's limited and knows the debt ceiling talk is winding down so she can now she can sing her same old song and dance, blame Obama. Unfortunately poor little Sarah is so limited she has nothing to offer as she comes out of hiding. She has hidden until all the heavy lifting was done by Bachmann and the rest of the GOP.

Every time Sarah Palin opens her mouth, she validates Benjamin Disraeli's famous observation that it is easier to be critical than be correct. I would also like someone to explain to me why her opinion about anything matters at all since it is never based on any type of critical thinking.

Oh Please do run. You're just what the election and the country needs to turn things around and give the president 4 more years and boot out the tea party republicans. You are one of the people who are divisive enough to really mobilize the presidents supporters and get him re-elected. I would even contribute money to your campaign

Gov. Palin speaks of “reality”. Well, the reality is the debt has been building up, mainly over the last 30 years and Republicans think we can change it in 30 days. The reality is that, on average, monthly government revenue and spending are $183 billion and $320 billion, respectively.
When Palin speaks of “prioritizing”, she echoes what Rush Limbaugh said on July 7th. That day, Rush told us there would be “no default” if the debt ceiling were not raised. Rush said the President needs to “prioritize” so that the debt service gets paid. Rush said the Congress should tell the President “it’s your job to live within the debt ceiling we give you”. Funny, the Congress never told that to any previous President!

But neither Rush nor Palin say what other spending should be cut -Social Security, the Military, farm subsidies ($172 billion per year (that‘s $1.7 billion over 10 years right there! Oh, I forgot Michelle Bachmann‘s parents get farm subsidies!) or something else?

Of course, both Rush and Palin ignore the fact that no modern debt ceiling was meant to be a permanent “straight jacket” on the budget, as witnessed by George W. Bush raising the same debt ceiling seven times.
