Palin's advice on debt ceiling: 'Reload with reality'

(CNN)-Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin had sharp words for both President Obama and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell late Wednesday as she criticized their handling of the looming debt ceiling deadline.

"It's absolutely nonsensical the lack of planning that our leaders are exercising and showing their constituents coming out of D.C. right now," she said.

The 2008 GOP nominee for vice president pulled no punches in an appearance on Fox News when it came to the actions of the president, whom she blamed for "big government job killing policies" and "fearmongering tactics" or McConnell, who proposed a short term plan she claimed "makes no sense."

"It does cede power to our president and takes away that authority that is inherent in Congress to control the economic decisions that have to be made when it comes to debt," Palin said of McConnell's short-term strategy to increase the debt ceiling in three increments.

"We cannot afford to back off and hand him a white flag saying, 'Here Mr. President we trust you you take over, you do it' because our president has failed in that area," she continued.

And though there's blame to go around, for Palin, the buck stops with Obama.

"Our president is essentially suggested the other day that he's not able to prioritize, as the chief executive of our nation he can't prioritize," she stated.

Palin, who said she'll decide on a bid for the 2012 GOP nomination for president by August or September, also gave advice to Republicans engaged in debt negotiations with the executive-in-chief.

"We cannot default but we cannot afford to retreat either, now is not the time to retreat. It's the time to reload and we reload with reality," she said.

Is she capable of coherent thourght?

And again, how about specifics? what excactly are these "big government job killing policies" Most of what is controbuting to the deficit are unfunded policies from the previous administration, you know when deficits didn't matter and the debt ceiling was increased seven times as a "matter of housekeeping".

I hate to say this but you can't win.

i wouldn't vote for you and I am a Republican.

I will say that we don't want more taxes or debt and our government needs to do the same we do out here in the real world don't spend what you don't have and balance the budget. I am tired of seeing all the waste and for some stupid reason the people in charge keep getting re-elected.

We need less government not more.

Obama you have had your fifteen minutes and it's time you just get out of dodge. You are the reason we are in this mess with all your failed plans and spending good money after bad.

As if this woman has the first clue about anything. I notice that, once again, all she does is criticize and complain.

$arah, I can't name one single idea that you've offered out there on ANYTHING! You whine and criticize and spout your usual catchphrases. You have to know that most everyone is catching on now that you are not about anything but money and have no clue how to actually govern – your continually falling popularity and confidence numbers tell the story. Your 3 years of fame are just about up (we can only hope). But I guess you have to milk it for all you can while you can...keep your name out there as long as possible, even if it's another story in which you appear vapid.

Why does the media continually repeat what Annie Oakley has to say??? She is irrelavant and she is no more going to run for President than Donald Trump. They are two ego maniacs that the media actually gives recognition. All she cares about is seeing her face on tv and people actually acting like she has something to say. Can this unintelligant woman make any statement that does not refer to guns??? She learned nothing from Tucson. The only power this woman has is with those nut job tea party people and they are the ones who are holding back a debt deal and are willing to see our country go over the egde rather than make a deal. I feel the media is totslly and completely responsible for this debt empasse because you keep baiting each side against the other and sticking you mikes in their faces. If we go over the edge, I blame the media for encouraging the idiots like Palin, Bachman, Pawlenty, Gingrich and Cantor.

Why does anyone care what this amazingly ignorant, unqualified, and inexperienced celebrity thinks about politics? The media should totally ignore anything she has to say and quit giving her the bully pulpit.

"We cannot default but we cannot afford to retreat either, now is not the time to retreat. It's the time to reload and we reload with reality," she said.

    (1) Does she know what reality is? (2) How can she want no default and not willing to retreat in negotiations with other people? Lady, we don't live in a perfect world and we can't have it both ways. That is the REALITY.

It's absolutely nonsensical the lack of planning that you put into your words. Remember the last time you said don't retreat, reload? A senator was shot in the head. What do you think is going to happen this time? More innocent blood on your hands.

Enough with Palin. She is the last person who should talk about broken politics. Does she not understand how serious it would be if we don't raise the debt limit? Look, nobody WANTS to raise it for the hell of raising it, but it is just something that has to be done.

Now, I'm all for spending cuts so long as millionaires and billionaires have to contribute to this mess too. It is morally wrong to make the middle and working class soley bare the brunt of it while giving a pass to the wealthy...who are the only ones who can help without drasitcially alterting their lifestyles.

The Republican arugment that we shouldn't tax wealthy people because they are the job creators is nonsense.

We had 23,000,000+ jobs created during the 1990's under Clinton when the top rate was 39.6% Under the Bush tax cuts we LOST MILLIONS of jobs that WON"T COME BACK.

I realize teabagging fools like Palin will never admit to that so that, but the rest of America that is sane realizes that you have to have both cuts and increased revenue if we are going to attack this problem.

"Our president is essentially suggested the other day that he's not able to prioritize, as the chief executive of our nation he can't prioritize," she stated.

Ah, and what would you know about prioritizing, Mrs. Palin? You're worried about your new documentary film while the rest of us are trying to avert an impending economic crisis.

Also, it might actually be a good idea to hand President Obama that "white flag" you spoke of. Heavens knows that the president has much more of a team-player mentality than do the rest of the GOP/TP morons.

Sigh...what is a lone citizen to do in such times?
