Palin's advice on debt ceiling: 'Reload with reality'

(CNN)-Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin had sharp words for both President Obama and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell late Wednesday as she criticized their handling of the looming debt ceiling deadline.

"It's absolutely nonsensical the lack of planning that our leaders are exercising and showing their constituents coming out of D.C. right now," she said.

The 2008 GOP nominee for vice president pulled no punches in an appearance on Fox News when it came to the actions of the president, whom she blamed for "big government job killing policies" and "fearmongering tactics" or McConnell, who proposed a short term plan she claimed "makes no sense."

"It does cede power to our president and takes away that authority that is inherent in Congress to control the economic decisions that have to be made when it comes to debt," Palin said of McConnell's short-term strategy to increase the debt ceiling in three increments.

"We cannot afford to back off and hand him a white flag saying, 'Here Mr. President we trust you you take over, you do it' because our president has failed in that area," she continued.

And though there's blame to go around, for Palin, the buck stops with Obama.

"Our president is essentially suggested the other day that he's not able to prioritize, as the chief executive of our nation he can't prioritize," she stated.

Palin, who said she'll decide on a bid for the 2012 GOP nomination for president by August or September, also gave advice to Republicans engaged in debt negotiations with the executive-in-chief.

"We cannot default but we cannot afford to retreat either, now is not the time to retreat. It's the time to reload and we reload with reality," she said.

Here Sarah, prioritize this. On August 4, the Treasury is scheduled to receive current revenues of $10 billion. On the same day, $100 billion in bonds will come due. Start "prioritizing" to avoid default. This will be interesting.

Another figure of speech related to firearms. You would have thought her PR folks would have made sure that that habit was broken.

Ok Sarah, explain the debt ceiling and it's affect on global economics, our credit rating, and our interest on our debt. Then explain the infield fly rule to prove you're really an American. Also.

Sarah might be right here: she's an expert when it comes to failure.

Has Palin offered an alternate plan or just a few cute soundbites?

As a potential leader, this woman has no depth whatsoever.

It seems pretty simple to me. The US has made the promise to honor its debt. The republican party says that it is for personal responsibility. To even discuss a default is the same as walking away from your mortgage and stiffing those who loaned you the money. So, the republicans are for the "strategic default" that ignores personal responsibility.

  20. Palin Power

Behold our next and greatest President, Sarah Palin. Only she will fix this whole mess and get this country back on the right track. She will do it with Palinomics and she will have the budget completely balanced in her 1st year and create greater surpluses than Clinton throughout the remainder of her 2 terms.

Sarah Palin is proof that looks alone really will get you a long way in life. Sadly, I'd still do her as long as a ball gag was involved.

Palin needs to tell us her plan before she rips up everyone else. Oh she doesn't have one. She probably thinks a debt ceiling is some new kind of building material.

Is it ok to retreat and not reload if its for money? As far as priorities are concerned, he has his in order, starting with his family: can the Quitter say the same thing?

No, my conservative friends, we are not afraid of her or any other conservative woman. We just find her hypocrisy, arrogance, ignorance, and abuse of the English language amusing. What would be ridiculed as babble from any other source is viewed as profound wisdom by Trailer Park Conservatives who blame everyone but themselves for their failures. She shook down oil companies for a doubling of their subsidy check to Alaskan residents, yet is against the loopholes that enable corporations to evade taxation and she still supports those subsidies to the oil industry when they clearly don't need them? She is in need of loading with reality, since I doubt she ever had any in the first place.
