Who helped the President bring in the big bucks?

Washington (CNN) – We now have a glimpse into some of the high-powered help the president and his re-election team received in raising a record-setting $87 million between April and June.

The Obama campaign released a list Friday afternoon of more than 270 fundraisers–so-called "bundlers"– who helped bring in at least $50,000 for the campaign and the joint Obama for America-Democratic National Committee victory fund.

Thirty-one people raised more than $500,000 including Hollywood producer Jeffrey Katzenberg, Vogue Editor Anna Wintour and former New Jersey Governor and U.S. Senator Jon Corzine.

Among the other notable names: famed Hollywood agent Ari Emanuel, one of 87 people who raised between $50,000 and $100,000. He is the brother of former White House Chief of Staff and current Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

Included in the list are long-time Democratic activists such as Ambassador Elizabeth Frawley, who served as a special representative for global partnerships at the State Department. Chicago business executive Penny Pritzker, who served as finance chair for then-Sen. Barack Obama's 2008 campaign, helped bring in between $100,000-$200,000 for the re-election effort.

Bundlers are an integral part of campaign fundraising efforts since individual donations are limited.

While federal law election requires campaigns to disclose the names of donors of more than $250, there is no requirement to reveal the names of bundlers.

Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt tweeted a challenge to the GOP candidates to disclose their bundlers as well.

Ummmmm. Seems like the "millionaires and billionaires" Obama is always attacking are his biggest supporters. That tells me that they have already received the loopholes. I hope the "milionaires and billionaires" who are earning an adjusted gross of $250,000 per year have the same loopholes as Obama's buddies........

  4. The Obama Recession Continues Unabated, Obama Depression on the way

I don't understand why all these rich liberals don't contribute ALL of their money to the poor, elderly and middle class. They must be ripping the poor, elderly and middle class off to acquire this wealth. They're greedy pigs and want to run the country with their money.

If you blame Obama for this Recession, then either you have been stuck under a rock for the last 10 years or you believe everything you hear, or - you are one of those Far Righters that are just stupid to begin with, and there is no help for you.

    phoenix86,
I don't think your statement is justified. Would they be supporting him if he wanted to raise their taxes and do away with their loopholes? I don't think he has in the government where this guy X-he supported me, so cut him some slack on taxes-–You are a Repub all the way....................................

At the end of the day, Sarah Palin will PWN Obozo and be our next President. Palin will outraise Obozo and shatter his fundraising records. She will be our greatest President of all times.

Well it looks like all the accusations of the rich favoring Republicans are incorrect. Looks like Obama is all in for his rich buddies.
Why don't they all send in a big check to the IRS to help pay down our debt? Oh that's right their belief is "anyone but me."
They will only give the money when it is taken away from them.
If all Obama's rich supporters decided to send in money to the IRS we wouldn't have this debt problem. They could pay it off themselves. Yet they refuse to do so.
They are no better than the so called "rich" Republicans

These articles have only one purpose and that is to give rise to comments. Some of the comments are nasty and border on tolerance of those who read them. These people who give to Mr. Obama's campaign also give to many charitable causes. Mr. Obama may get campaign contributions but many charities count on the support of these people.

Why not publish the names of contributors to the Republican candidates. I really have not heard much about who is backing individual candidates. Since Sarah Palin has not announced her candidacy she can continue to raise money. How much goes into what pot is the questions.

Who is paying for the candidates to travel all over the country? That is a good question.

Jesus told the rich ruler to sell all his wealth and give it to the poor, and then follow Him as His disciple.

Well, the rich ruler did not want to give up his wealth, and make the hard choice given him.

Sound familiar? Bill Gates, George Soros and Warren Buffett are good Democrats who believe that taxpayers should help the poor with their wealth. Hmmm. Don't the states currently have 135 billion in deficits right now, and that impacts the poor, the elderly, unemployed? Sounds like the very people Jesus was concerned about.

Now, those three billionaires have about 120 billion in stock, sitting in tax free non-profit foundations. Let's see their ideology put in action, and use those funds to close the states (and national) budget gap.

Would that happen? You make the call!! Rich rulers will always be among us. But, do they really contribute their fair share?

George Bush, Cheney & company were no slouches in collecting money either and they did not even have the PRIVILEGE of being from Chicago. All of you Obama naysayers are responsible for the mess he faces now with Cantor and his henchmen in the House. These people would rather see America default than to work out a fair and decent solution to our problems. The Tea Party and their foot soldiers are destroying us! Also, just for the heck of it, I am pointing out that your post had at least two spelling errors. It's hard to see with hate filming your eyes, isn't it?

Uhm, those wealthy folk don't mind paying taxes. They have never expected some suited turd to assure them that "taxes will not be raised". The reason is that they know that tax revenues are needed to keep the country running and keep people on their jobs (and that is not only federal or state workers for any moron who'll try it). You can hate Obama all you want. He's doing all he can for a nation, not just certain, particular "Americans". Sound familiar? Mines on the way tooooo!!

ok – why don't these people contribute their $$ to the treasury to help with the debt issue. And hollywood stars (many of today's millionaires and billionaires) could put a big dent in things as well. All these "progressives" are extremely wealthy – they claim to be for the poor – and live like kings. Let them donate their excess and quit portraying themselves as Robin Hood.
