RNC maps out White House foul

Washington (CNN)-It's never too early to play hardball presidential politics. Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus penned a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder asking for an investigation of an "apparent crime" committed by President Barack Obama Monday.

According to Priebus, the crime was committed by the president, in the Map Room, with a video.

Priebus accused the president of recording a fundraising appeal in the Map Room of the White House. He said it is "not part of the White House residence, but rather 'occupied in the discharge of official duties,'" and called for the Department of Justice to investigate.

The Map Room is located on the ground floor of the White House.

"According to multiple individuals with knowledge of the White House's rooms and layout, the video appears to have been recorded in the Map Room...the White House Counsel has indicated that the video was filmed somewhere in the residential portion of the White House," Priebus said.

It is illegal to solicit contributions for a political purpose from any area of the White House "occupied in the discharge of official duties," or, used for purposes of official White House business.

But the Map Room is considered to be part of the White House residence, and has been for decades. The residence is not subject to restrictions placed on rooms used for official business.

White House spokesman Eric Schultz told CNN, "As we've said in the past, this was wholly appropriate and routinely done in past administrations."

"Many lawyers and experts have all said publicly that what this administration is doing is completely above board," Schultz fired back.

Despite the RNC's claims, both Republican and Democratic administrations have considered the Map Room as part of the White House residence.

Just another example of what Repugnanticans are good at: creating pointless distractions. The sad and intentional part is that a lot of the public will just hear 'White House broke the law' without going any further. I'm afraid Rince looks a lot like Pee Wee Herman. Is Michelle Bachmann invited him on a tour of her husband's clinic yet?

I say to the RNC....Give up Dicky Cheney and George W. Bush for ACTUAL crimes of treason and War Crimes.

And we'll MAYBE give you the President.

The Republicans are AMAZING. I mean all the questions and sudden frustration over war, the debt and unemployment......Please....do tell where all this outrage was from 2001-2009 ?

Republicans will say and do anything to get this man out of office! Their entire goal is to introduce enough distractions to this Presidents tenure to keep things always going. You would have thought that President Obama was a mass murderer to Republicans who killed millions of people who was runnig amuck in the White House. One would imagine!

If you thought the Repukes were irrelevant before, they've sealed the deal with this little twerp. Somebody oughta give him the atomic wedgie he deserves and then beat the snot outta him. Every time I think the Repukes just may be decent and respectable people...another one of them oozes up from the muck and mire and reminds me why I'll NEVER vote Repuke.

    Egregious and odious bastards!

Keep on voting for Republicans- to do so is to keep the same idiotic goings on going. If you haven't learned your lesson yet, it's way too late – you are one of them!

Psssst, Reince? I've heard that President Obama breathes the same air as me and the Koch Brothers. Now, since we know that is a violation of laws of both man and nature, I want you to break this news to the World, and begin rioting at once.

    PS: I meant now!

I need to see the RNC's long form proof of it before I'll believe it.

The Republicans even told the American people before the 2010 election that if they got the power to do so, they were going to start this nonsense again & yet people voted for them anyway. Not a single jobs bill, passed a bill to destroy Medicare, endangered our economy with their partisan allegiance to Grover Norquist over the American people and now they're trying to start a nonsensical "Map Room-gate".

All GOP out 2012! OBAMA 2012!

    A. Goodwin – Dear Lord, indeed. You dare to imply that I'm ignorant to facts, while the most campaigned president in American history continues to earn that title day in and day out? Every politician spends a portion of his time focusing on reelection. You can't govern if you can't win. However, this president chooses to spend 80% of his time in campaign mode and the other 20% on the golf course relaxing from a hard day of campaigning.

This is the type of politician that should be fired from his seat by his constituets. Trying to distract the importance of being a servant of the people.
Then again look at his salary and how much he makes in bonuses, life insturance and retirement. Boo

Another lie and another long whine from Republicans to distract from the fact that they're trying to drive the country over the cliff again, for the second time in less than five years.

The RNC: the pathetically incompetent, trying to lead the terminally stupid on a course of tragic failure.

To those in the electorate who feed off the RNC teat: guys, they breeched your skull when the word S-T-U-P-I-D was branded on your forehead.

"...The videao appears to have been recorded in the Map Room...".
If you can't identify the room without reservation, it can't be a part of the Official White House.

Just when I thought they finally rid the RNC of the absurdity of Michael Steele; Reince Priebus opened his mouth and removed all doubt of any change!

Someone just off this GOP dimwit already. Normally I'd say a name like that would be enough in the form of punishment, but in this case, someone please send him on a long walk of a short pier.
