Ex-Gang of Six members to unveil debt plan to other senators Tuesday

Washington (CNN) – Members of a bipartisan group of senators who worked for months to forge an agreement to make deep reductions in the federal debt will unveil a plan to slash trillions of dollars off that debt over the next 10 years.

The former Gang of Six members will reveal their plan privately Tuesday to a group of 40 to 50 senators.

It is my understanding that Republicans have included within their "Cut, Cap, and Balance" plan that any tax increases would require a 2/3 majority of each chamber of Congress in order to be passed. A requirement like that, which predetermines the "Rules of Proceedings" for the House and Senate, is most unconstitutional.

That's all well and good, but Americans are more concerned about raising the debt ceiling and not defaulting and JOBS!!! I'd like to know what specifically will be changed in the tax code and what reforms they intend on making to entitlements.

This is somewhat encouraging – there are still some in Washington who are at least TRYING a bipartisan approach.

Wow, so funny everyone now wants to be a fiscal conservative on the Nation Debt and Budget. What a joke!! So where were the Republican when BUSH started all this with his personal war in IRAQ? I think that is the question that every Democrat cowing down to these idiots in the House and Senate should ask them!!! I mean where were they when the Bush instituted the Tax Cuts for wealthy corporations and his buddies that stole the election for him? Where were they when he continued to let the banks have a free ride with no regulation? Sure the current adminstration had to add to it, but lets not forget why they had to add to it!!! We all know that if the President didn't do half of the things he did, this country would have been looking worst than the crash of the 30's. Those political leaders need to remember why we are here in this mess and stop trying to seek political gain and do the right thing!!

    Cut, Cap, Balance =

If a family signs a pledge to take on more and more kids to raise, but never get an increase in pay. Must do it by cutting utilities, housing, clothes, food, etc. ALL CUTS WITH NO INCREASES.

The GOP is going tp pay dearly unless they accept offers from the other side. Pig-headed obstinence and burying your head in the sand "no no no, I don't hear you" will not work. Americans by far want taxes included in the deal. Too bad the T-B have the GOP by the you-know-what and will not relent

This has no hope of working. Why? Because it involves compromise, and neither side of the aisle is willng to do that. It's time to kick all the blockers out.

Since the Republican took Control Of the House. Worst mistake American people ever Did, was Put the Republican In Control of the HOUSE In 2010. Till haven't got what the Republican Promise and that Is JOBS. They keep thinking that give the Rich more tax cuts are going to get job. Every since President bush come up with this tax cut mess, America has Lost more Jobs than we ever had, Ever one In America can see that the tax cut don't work except the Republican In Congress.

The first cut I would LOVE to see are all lawmakers taking a fifteen percent pay cut, lawmakers should lose the right to vote themselves a payraise, lawmakers to pay substantially more for their health coverage and a ten percent cut in their operating budgets. I'm sure that the plan the Mob of Six have in mind is tomake the average citizen sacrifice even more and greater tax cuts and subsidies for the rich and big corporations. You hear republicans talking about job killing taxes, but there nobody that has killed more jobs than republicans.
