Washington (CNN) - First lady Michelle Obama will tape an appearance on network reality television Thursday.
The ABC show "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" confirms Mrs. Obama will appear as a guest star working on behalf of military families.
She will travel to Fayetteville, N.C., Thursday to work on the renovation of "The Steps-N-Stages Jubilee House," which offers shelter, support, mentoring, and life coaching for homeless female veterans. The trip is part of the first lady's ongoing "Joining Forces" initiative in support of military families and those in uniform.
According to ABC, the show is set to focus on 15-year navy veteran Barbara Marshall, who has become "passionately committed" to supporting the military. Marshall is a former military chaplain who founded the community center and has actively helped fellow female veterans overcome severe challenges caused by homelessness.
The first lady is expected to help build a new Jubilee House, work on a greenhouse project and help with a children's playhouse. She will also take part in a special project in honor of Marshall.
ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" performs renovations for families, individuals and groups who have experienced hardships.

FLOTUS is an attorney who earned a 6 figure salary but has never forgotten those who are most important, families and children. We could all learn to be more loving and caring about others and I thank FLOTUS for showing her caring love. God Bless Our Military Families and all American Families.

Michelle Obama is the greatest 1st lady that has ever existed, she kicks butt! She's really 'hands on' when she helps others, unlike so many other of the stuck up first ladies who sat on their butts just writing checks.
I'm on my 2nd tour and my wife is on her 3rd, so this particular charity that the 1st lady is doing means a lot to us.
I applaud her for ignoring the constant criticism from others, and the hate (as already evidenced on here) that will come as a result of her doing this great charitable deed.
The Republicans will have a field day with this and slam her mercilessly, but only after they finish carrying out the latest execution.
I'm a military wife and we are expecting her here tomorrow in Fayetteville N.C. I'm disgusted that she is trying to bother with another one of her causes. If you want to kiss the military's butt the Obama administration can start by not threatening to with hold pay from our troops. These families work dawn till dusk literally and they aren't paid well at all. The least you could do is guarantee a pay check.
What a wonderful display of support for our military from our First Lady. She has shown consistent dedication to her causes (childhood obesity and military families) and they are certainly worthy of all of our support!! Nice job, Mrs. Obama!!!

Will she really be building something? Just like her White House garden. I am from the country where my first lady likes to drink a lot and we dont see her much. Sorry cant stand stupidity and absurd that coming from some "patriots" of this country.
