(CNN) – The Senate rejected the House GOP's "cut, cap, and balance" deficit reduction plan Friday, voting 51-46 to set aside the measure.

Raise taxes on the "job creators" (wealthy corporations that are NOT hiring) with the stipulation that WHEN unemployment falls below 7% they will get a tax cut.
Put THAT marker on the table.
Oh – and IF unemployment goes back UP over 7% the tax increases will be put back in place. Fair's fair. Stop exporting our jobs and sending revenue to foreign countries.
Cantor is said to be investing in a hedge fund that is BETTING THE US WILL DEFAULT.

Good. Stupid idea. It would allow GOP to starve the government and force all sacrifices on the least among us (I know there's a biblical quote in there somewhere for all you faux conservative christains). It would also hamstring us in the event of a true emergency. We would have lost WW II under CC&B – the billionaire's dream.
This is the ONLY TRUE SOLUTION to the problem!! It is clear the Senate is controlled by "progressive" Democrats and the Whitehouse by a socialist have absolutely no interest in truely solving the real problem. Until the American people can remove these dangerous people from the Senate and Whitehouse and replace them fiscally responsible people, this country will remain in grave danger.
What a complete waste of time and our taxpayer dollars. The GOP is expending valuable time with this "symbolic" nonsense again that had absolutely No chance of passing at a moment when our nation is facing default.
These legislators need to get to work on a real compromise as Americans pay them to do! Enough.

We all knew this was coming. Thanks GOP for wasting a week on this snowballs-chance-in-hell legislation. Can you get back to work and compromise already?
Goes to show American liberal democrats do not want their irresponsible spending ways stopped. If they where serious about a long term balanced budget they would pass some sort of fiscal responsibility legislation. Why do you think Germany has a balanced budget. Before they pass a desired gov service, first they appropriate the money either by cutting or reducing an old unneeded service or raise tax. They seem to be able to do things without raising taxes.
And the republicans seem to not get that their reduced taxes of the bush years needed to be offset with spending cuts, good thing that group was voted out but today’s group needs to understand that because of past behavior, those cuts where nothing more then loans back to the people and need to be paid back

This isn't news. We all knew this bill wasn't going to pass the Senate or make it to the President's desk. It's all political posturing so the Teatards can cover their collective behinds.
I got a better proposal than Cut, Cap, & Balance. It's called TAX here, TAX there, TAX everywhere! And once you've done taxing, TAX some more!
"cut, cap and trade" – Can the amateurs in the House now get some useful work done for the American people that they purport to represent.. Quite a waste of time, effort and energy. Perhaps we should withhold congressional pay and institute a "Pay for Performance Program" for them. And I wasn't thinking about a "stage performance", they are already good at that.
CC&B didn't stand a chance in becoming legal even if it were passed. Requiring 2/3 votes on future revenue bills was grossly unconstitutional. Enough said. It's dead.
The Democrats and Obama have no interest in solving the problem. They want more control over everyones lives. Stop listening to their words and look at their actions.
Very slick of the Republicans – now they can say they tried to make the hard choices and the Dems voted it down. If the reports are true about this new deal it contains NO revenue the Dems will explode! If it's true Obama is finished. Pelosi will declare war!!!
