Palin: Obama's 'fear mongering'

(CNN) – Sarah Palin accused President Obama of "scaring" the American people over the importance of raising the debt ceiling before the August 2 deadline.

"Scaring the American people is exactly what President Obama is doing," Palin said Tuesday night on Fox News. "The president's getting pretty good at this fear mongering and trying to cram down the public's throat this idea of bigger government, more spending."

Although the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee said she respects House Speak John Boehner's efforts to negotiate with the president, she said there is a larger problem with his strategy.

"The internal problem that he has is reinventing the wheel here in the 11th hour, when we already have Cut, Cap and Balance that passed the House, and we don't need to retreat now and wave a white flag," Palin said.

The Republican-controlled House passed "Cut, Cap, and Balance," a plan that failed to pass the Democratic-controlled Senate last week. The pledge includes cuts and caps in spending and a balanced budget amendment to the constitution. Boehner is now trying to put forward a plan that includes the framework of the pledge in a deal that could become law. Obama is advocating for a "balanced approach" to the crisis that would combine spending cuts and no extension of Bush-era tax cuts for families making more than $250,000 a year.

Palin, who is considering a bid for the White House in 2012, has said raising the debt ceiling is inevitable, but that Republicans "better get something out of it."

"This August 2 deadline is looming, but it's not Armageddon, it's not life-or-death, so Boehner and the Republicans have got to make sure that they've got a good plan in front of those who will be voting on this plan," Palin said.

Well, now that Sarah has explained that this is really not that big of a problem we can all just relax – NOT! The scariest three words in the English language at this juncture might well be, "President Sarah Palin". We don't need her or her opinions shaping ANY policies for this nation.

Stay out of it Palin. This way over your brain's cognitive skill. Go back to your handlers and figure how to use your millions to educate your family(academically).Like place them in school(s) to become better than what you show them. Learn to read classics, math, science.

That's right, Obama and his political party started TWO wars on fear. And Obama's incessant use of "9/11" to reinforce the justification for those wars, unbelievable. For just once, I wish Obama would quit saying "a smoking gun in the form of a mushroom cloud" and stop promoting fear.

If only there were more Palin's out there in the world working to bring people together, working towards peace and harmony.

As usual Ms Palin doesn't have all her facts straight. If she's as smart as she thinks she is she would realize that its actually the Republicans who are doing the fear mongering. They all need to grow up and fix the problem instead of feeding their own egos. I'm so glad the American people can really see what is going on there and are calling them on it. Washington – the American people aren't as stupid as you appear to think they are. They all understand that everyone is just looking out for themselves and trying to throw Obama to the wolves. The Republicans don't seem to realize that the crisis they are in right now was brought about by years of their own leadership, but I guess it's easier to just say that Obama was the downfall of the country. Even he is not that good that he can destroy a country's economy in three years!

Fear mongering? Not anymore fear than the the thought that Palin has managed to survive this long without a brain. And this is the airhead that "thinks" she can lead this country? She can't even lead her own family. Give us a break Palin. You're history. Not that you ever were history. Just someone to keep the American public occupied with your stupidity during our economic crisis.

In better times I would laugh over Palin's attempts to bring us 'wisdom'. In recent days, after witnessing the most disgusting, small minded politiking this country has ever seen, I am ready to reach through the computer screen and bitch slap Boehner, McConnell, Cantor and all of the rest of those boorish, sold out cheapskates who are willing to send my country down down the river for poltical points.
So with my stock portfolio headed to zero, and the price of ground chuck headed to $10 a pound (after the hyper inflation that will follow this fiasco), pardon me if I don't give a damn what Sarah of the 95 IQ has to say about anything.

Personal jabs have been aimed at Palin. I have asked family members, what policy or act while mayor or governor did you disagree with? If the only thing you can find is that she stepped down as governor BECAUSE of all the fraudulent lawsuits that were costing the Alaskan taxpayers and keeping Palin from performing her duties, then don't bother. If that is the case then you choose to hate someone and attack them personally rather than acknowledge what she did for Alaskans and Americans by standing up to big government in BOTH parties. Jealous much?
Funny that Obama demonizes rich people, many of them helped get him elected. Many of the rich elitist Hollywood types pretend to be on the side of the middle class because they want your money in their pockets.

Ahh, all this debate about the debt ceiling and balancing the budget isn't about what is best for the US and it's people – no the important thing as far as Sister Sarah is concerned is what can the republicans get out of the deal.

A good leader would offer a solution. All she's doing is criticizing those that are working extremely long hours to get a deal done. Not my kind of leader.

She need to stay out of this debate, things are polarized enough. I don't understand what good further polarization does us. There are real issues facing this country with our economy and I don't hear her offering anything. No plan just words that divide and attack. Not what we need.

Wow, Palin and FoxNews as the experts on scaring people! I'm so shocked and surprised. Sorry to burst your bubble Palin aka FoxNews but most of us out here can understand far more than you think we can.

Sarah Palin, remember you could not handle the heat as a governor and you decided to quit. Despite the fact that you and your republican have decided not to cooperate or support the President as your commander in chief, the Man is still standing. I suggest you remain silent on this issue because this issue is for the adult to resolve and not a quiter like you. Nobody want to hear you, moreso nothing positive for you to contribute. Remain silent Ms. Ex-Governor.

Well Sarah. He is doing a good job of establishing fear. But then again, the House Speaker, Senate Majority Leader, and all those politicians and especially tea party are doing there part in scaring the heck out of us all. Wait until China and other countries recall our loans because of all this, it should really mess up the US Government as well as the World when the government files bankrutp. This has got to be the worst congress we had since the revolutionary war. They can't negotiate amongst themselves wort a darn. We should fire all of them and only have two congessman per state and two senators per state, and majority vote wins. At least we will have more timely decisions made long before the expiration dates.

  24. The Day of Financial Reckoning is HERE - The Great Democrat Welfare Society Ends

If THREE YEARS of record unemployment, record foreclosures, sky rocketing fuel and food prices, sky rocketing healthcare (just WAIT until employers drop healthcare benefits because of Obamacare), record debt and record deficits isn't scary enough for you America....

...just THINK about what state this country will be in with 4 more years of the Obama/Democrat nightmare. Look to the streets of Greece for what Obama and the Democrats have in store for your future.

  25. Palin is a Joke

Obama is scaring people? Gee, maybe he got that idea from Sarah Palin who scared people with "Death Panels".
Cut, Cap and Balance? That was a symbolic and political vote.

All Sarah Palin can do is hate. She is not looking for a deal for all of America, she is looking to keep her name in the public eye so she can make money. She is not looking at what's good for the people but what's good for herself.
