Palin: Obama's 'fear mongering'

(CNN) - Sarah Palin accused President Obama of "scaring" the American people over the importance of raising the debt ceiling before the August 2 deadline.

"Scaring the American people is exactly what President Obama is doing," Palin said Tuesday night on Fox News. "The president's getting pretty good at this fear mongering and trying to cram down the public's throat this idea of bigger government, more spending."

Although the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee said she respects House Speak John Boehner's efforts to negotiate with the president, she said there is a larger problem with his strategy.

"The internal problem that he has is reinventing the wheel here in the 11th hour, when we already have Cut, Cap and Balance that passed the House, and we don't need to retreat now and wave a white flag," Palin said.

The Republican-controlled House passed "Cut, Cap, and Balance," a plan that failed to pass the Democratic-controlled Senate last week. The pledge includes cuts and caps in spending and a balanced budget amendment to the constitution. Boehner is now trying to put forward a plan that includes the framework of the pledge in a deal that could become law. Obama is advocating for a "balanced approach" to the crisis that would combine spending cuts and no extension of Bush-era tax cuts for families making more than $250,000 a year.

Palin, who is considering a bid for the White House in 2012, has said raising the debt ceiling is inevitable, but that Republicans "better get something out of it."

"This August 2 deadline is looming, but it's not Armageddon, it's not life-or-death, so Boehner and the Republicans have got to make sure that they've got a good plan in front of those who will be voting on this plan," Palin said.

What an insignificant stain this "Palin" is. Please stop reporting on her babble and get on to the real stories of interest.

"Already have Cut, Cap and Balance" huh, Sarah? She's not any better at math than the Republicans who are trying to pass this lie off as a solution. Cut spending to 19.9% of the GDP, but leave revenues at 16% of the GDP. Somehow the budget will get magically balanced when the government is still not receiving as much revenue as it is spending. Lying bunch of cretins. And the Tea Party is eating this crap up and drinking their Kool-Aid with it. 1 + 1 = 3 in the Republican world.

Oh, fear mongering? Like the crap she and McCain pulled in 2008 to try and win the Presidency? Shows just how much she really knows about the term, or any other kind of essential term in the human vocabulary! This woman really needs to learn how to shut up and fade away....nobody cared about her in 2008, nobody cares about her now...she needs to go back to hunting and watching Russia from her house, because that's all she's really good at, since she quit as Governor of Alaska!

Does Palin even has an idea as to what is needed in USA and what is happening in DC? All rating agencies, economists and political pundits including Director of IMF have stated that dire consequences of not increasing the debt ceiling and Palin still is not accepting that President Obama is stating the truth and the obvious. If we do not raise the debt ceiling by August 2, we will face higher costs, lower our ability to get out of recession and in fact, get into another recession. These are not fear mongering techniques, but statement of facts. Sarah Palin has no idea as she knows that face with any problem, she will quit as she has no commitment to USA or the truth.

Why does the press continue to publish what Sarah and her stupid daughter are saying? All they care about is the attention and not what is good for America.

If the debt ceiling isn't raised and decisions have to be made as to what bills to pay/not pay, I suggest that the 'not pay' list begin with the salaries of the President, Vice-President, and all members of Congress.

Guess CNN is turning into a Fox News affilliate for not posting my previous commentary (hey moderator...are you a former FOX employee?). The only thing scary around here is that Michellle Bachman is even worse than Palin for being a complete nut job.

  17. The Real Tom Paine

@ Wolf: "Jealous much?" Where did you learn, or not learn, to write? No, its not jealousy, its being incredulous that you could mistake ignorance for principle. Palin left the coffers of Wasilla and AK leaner than when she started, and she used the offices she held to settle scores and piggy-back her way to the national stage. She has never run a private enterprise where she was responsible for the welfare of others, so how can she possibly have any empathy with small business owners or the average person who is struggling? She has made money off of your fear and paranoia, plain and simple.

Yep the republicans know fear mongering and it's not what President Obama is doing. He is the only person telling the truth.
Fear mongering was the campaign slogan of GWB. "Be afraid be very afraid. I am the only one who can protect you". Sickening.

If there is ANYTHING good coming out of our political atmosphere and this current debt issue it is this.....polarization and this absurd demonizing of the other guy has not, is not, and will not lead us out of this mess. Palin is nothing more then a continuation of hate, self promoting propaganda, and more separation. She IS the problem. Its not that these issues cant be resolved and we move forward...together. Its what separates us that is killing us. Palin offers ZERO of what the country needs. She is Rush Limbaugh in a skirt. Nothing more then people who fill their pockets off the platform of hate. And lets face it...the republicans and the tea party own this one lock, stock, and barrel. We should not fear ridding this country of these sorts of people.
