Palin: Obama's 'fear mongering'

(CNN) – Sarah Palin accused President Obama of "scaring" the American people over the importance of raising the debt ceiling before the August 2 deadline.

"Scaring the American people is exactly what President Obama is doing," Palin said Tuesday night on Fox News. "The president's getting pretty good at this fear mongering and trying to cram down the public's throat this idea of bigger government, more spending."

Although the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee said she respects House Speak John Boehner's efforts to negotiate with the president, she said there is a larger problem with his strategy.

"The internal problem that he has is reinventing the wheel here in the 11th hour, when we already have Cut, Cap and Balance that passed the House, and we don't need to retreat now and wave a white flag," Palin said.

The Republican-controlled House passed "Cut, Cap, and Balance," a plan that failed to pass the Democratic-controlled Senate last week. The pledge includes cuts and caps in spending and a balanced budget amendment to the constitution. Boehner is now trying to put forward a plan that includes the framework of the pledge in a deal that could become law. Obama is advocating for a "balanced approach" to the crisis that would combine spending cuts and no extension of Bush-era tax cuts for families making more than $250,000 a year.

Palin, who is considering a bid for the White House in 2012, has said raising the debt ceiling is inevitable, but that Republicans "better get something out of it."

"This August 2 deadline is looming, but it's not Armageddon, it's not life-or-death, so Boehner and the Republicans have got to make sure that they've got a good plan in front of those who will be voting on this plan," Palin said.

Memo to the Dems: If you were trying to find a middle ground and extend a hand of cooperation to the Repugs, you have terribly failed. Don't even try it. GW, KarlRove, Rummy, Condy etc were not tried for war crimes and lying to Americans only so that we believed we have to work with these crooks to get work done in DC. But looks like its never a possibility. So lets start by making the Repugs the party of NO by paying for their crimes. Try all the crooks in court of public opinion let them be the scare crow for all future country hating dim wit Repugs !!

Well, Well, Well, Ms Palin Thanks for those stupid comments. It's not surprising though since that's all you do except trying to get people to pay you for such garbage. Create some more controversy and get those poor little ignorant people and Fox news to send you some more money. You have become a multimillionaire from this kind of garbage.

Go after it if people are willing to pay for STUPIDITY.

When you people elect me president, I will invite all my rich republican friends to the white house to feast on the spoils of the poor. Then we will throw the poor our table scraps and tell them how "big government" is really really really bad.

397 people recommended this piece of crap article. Funny, how she forgot to mention the fact that CCB did not pass the Senate and is dead in the water. The President already agreed to more spending cuts vs. revenue increases (mainly done by cutting loopholes for wealthy Americans and Corporations that they don't need. Yet the Republicans controlled by Grover Norquist and the Tea Party want to suck America dry. The majority of these people really don't realize the disaster they are setting up with plans like CCB or cutting spending drastically in the a soft recovery for the poor and middle class.

The Republicans call it "Class Warfare", well what else would you call it when the poor and middle class and even Americans making reasonable incomes have taking the blunt of the cuts. Wage growth has stagnated for this group. That isn't class warfare, that is a fact that Republicans and Tea Party remembers refuse to recognize. Now they want to make deeper cuts where most of the impact is again on middle class and the poor. Yes, I know the Democrats are not blameless in this mess but at least they are trying to make the deficit reduction more balanced. The Republicans think by cutting the loopholes and raising the taxes on the wealthiest, they will impact job creation. That is bogus. Corporations are hoarding close to two Trillion dollars and every quarter are reporting record earnings, adding to that hoard. But doing very little hiring.

All I can say is that in November 2012, when you go into that voting booth, act like pulling the Republican lever will give you a serious electric shock.

As usual, Palin attacks others and that's all she does. Where, Ms. Palin, are your original ideas and plans of your own for solutions to the issues that face our country? Will you ever engage in constructive dialogue or is whining the only thing you know how to do?

Funny Palin talks about fear-mongering, when we spent 8 years hearing about how terrorists were living around the corner (hence, we need wiretaps, library card monitoring and full body scans), the Iraqis were coming to get us, Obama was a closet Muslim from Kenya out to undermine America from within, and we only have a spending problem in Washington.
There's a phrase in history that goes like this: Tell a lie loud enough and long enough, and it becomes the truth. Wanna know who said it?

Sarah is the problem, not the solution. She rarely knows the actual facts and just says anything that will get her HEADLINES. Why the media tells the public everything she says is a shame.

Ms. Palin–Can you describe what a debt ceiling is and how it affects the United States of America?

That's one thing evil people do – accuse others of doing the thing theiy do, in order to put people off the scent. Palin does nothing but try to make her dim followers afraid of "socialism" or whatever other bug-a-boo she comes up with.

Sarah is a joke. And the joke is on the Republican party, who look like fools for making her important.

I dont think this dumb@#$% is intelligent enough to fully appreciate the gravity of the situation. It's probably hard enough for her handlers to get her to memorize these little one liners let alone try to teach her about the complexities of our economy.

Shame she wasn't paid more attention as a child. Maybe we'd never had to put up with the airhead, if daddy and mommie, had done their perspective jobs? Sick of seeing and hearing from this empty shell of a human being. Any chance of replacing her with a story that has reievance?
