Palin: Obama's 'fear mongering'

(CNN) – Sarah Palin accused President Obama of "scaring" the American people over the importance of raising the debt ceiling before the August 2 deadline.

"Scaring the American people is exactly what President Obama is doing," Palin said Tuesday night on Fox News. "The president's getting pretty good at this fear mongering and trying to cram down the public's throat this idea of bigger government, more spending."

Although the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee said she respects House Speak John Boehner's efforts to negotiate with the president, she said there is a larger problem with his strategy.

"The internal problem that he has is reinventing the wheel here in the 11th hour, when we already have Cut, Cap and Balance that passed the House, and we don't need to retreat now and wave a white flag," Palin said.

The Republican-controlled House passed "Cut, Cap, and Balance," a plan that failed to pass the Democratic-controlled Senate last week. The pledge includes cuts and caps in spending and a balanced budget amendment to the constitution. Boehner is now trying to put forward a plan that includes the framework of the pledge in a deal that could become law. Obama is advocating for a "balanced approach" to the crisis that would combine spending cuts and no extension of Bush-era tax cuts for families making more than $250,000 a year.

Palin, who is considering a bid for the White House in 2012, has said raising the debt ceiling is inevitable, but that Republicans "better get something out of it."

"This August 2 deadline is looming, but it's not Armageddon, it's not life-or-death, so Boehner and the Republicans have got to make sure that they've got a good plan in front of those who will be voting on this plan," Palin said.

Coming from flake and bake herself I am not surprised. These folks from Fox and the right wingnut community minds are so twisted they can't tell what is up or down or right or wrong. That's the problem when you look through that distorted lens for so long no light gets in.

Please continue to spew stupidity Sarah. You will only continue to hurt your party for the future. You are viewed by the majority of educated people as a real failure. I'm you being the leader our Mavricky Guvoornment would really do such a better job. Maybe we could hold turkey shoots for medical care...Again, please keep talking.

How can anyone vote for a bumbling buffoon like Sara Palin. Why doesn't she just go catch more fish in Alaska?

Both Sara Palin and Fox News make me want to vomit. It's all inaccurate, irrelevent, and ridiculous information to discredit Obama and/or the "big bad Democrats" who apparently put us into this whole economic mess in the first place, according to what they continue to say..Apparently they have all forgotten the fact the Bush was in office for 8 years before Obama got here and the country was already falling apart when he got elected. I can't believe they even try to sell that story must less get people to buy it. Why don't we all jump on the Tea Party bandwagon so that we can try our best to rewind the country back to the Constituion days when things were SO great! This is Sara Palin's whole foundation. It's humorous if you think about it, I'm SURE our founding fathers would have supported her as a presidential candidate or even politician in general, right? Oh wait, probably not since women weren't even allowed to vote. It's okay Sara, I'm sure they would have let you cook them dinner or sew a flag or two. What a blithering idiot!! "Cut, cap, and balance" that!

Has she quit her reality show yet like she did her governor position? I don't watch that garbage, but i would imagine since more money is involved, the show is still going on. That's what the Palin family excels at, getting Americans to put money in their pockets.

I realized something - I get in a negative, annoyed, pessimistic mood whenever I see/read about her latest antics. Really, I need to exercise self control but, can you please just not write about her anymore? Please?

I agree that Obama is fear-mongering. Social Security checks will still go out. Military will still get paid. However, if we want to cut the budget, we can start with the Senate, Congress and White House. Cut everyone's office budgets to $0. Cut travel budgets to $0. Cut party budgets to $0. If they want to do any of the above, they can pay for it like the rest of us do. Want to have dinner???? Pay for it. Michelle can go out and actually buy her food so we can all know what she is eating and feeding her children. Ribs, french fries, burgers, etc would soon be off the menu. If Obama wants to go out of the White House, he can pay for his own gas. Bet we could save a few billion there.

What about the death panels she was spouting off about during the healthcare debate. Typical teabagger, complain and bitch when it doesn't suit your needs. I JUST WISH SHE WOULD GO AWAY!!!!!!!

Fear mongering like telling people that a healthcare reform bill contains provisions that will set up "death panels" that will determine the fate of elderly patients in need of medical treatment?

    @ Fed Up:

I got a better idea: how about the Koch Brothers and the rest of the idle rich do like JP Morgan and put their personal fortune up to help stabilise the country?

I have yet to understand why conservatives get so upet about a First Lady who wants kids to eat right and exercise. Did you get upset and burn books becuase Laura Bush wanted kids to read?

I was wondering when the Alaskan screech owl was going to throw in her two-cents. As for leveling the accusation of fear mongering at Obama…pot meet kettle. Palin has spent the last three years fattening her bank account by making a career out of spewing a daily dose of poison that’s mostly based on lies, exaggerations, manipulation, sheer mind-numbing stupidity…AND fear mongering.

This woman is not a politician...she's a speaker that collects the bucks. Why do people listen to her? She used the scare tactic of death panels but LET'S ALL FORGET THAT, RIGHT?

The only issue is the "cut cap and balance" will not result in any of those three things.

If Palin goes away....who will Sean Hannity (Fox News) drool over. The twinkle in his eye, blushing cheeks and alluring smile when interviewing her tells it all.

Ah yes; getting into the minds of the Americans about "death panels" is not fear mongering. Can she take a long walk in the woods and die already? Pretty please!

Hey Sarah- how does it feel to work for a "news" organization that builds it's stories out of hacking innocent people? You had some kid sent to prison for hacking your email. If you had any integrity you would quit FOX news and give that old toad Ruppert his blood money back.

You are getting better with your two syllable words but you still need to work on those run-on sentences. Oh I forget you finally did get some kind of "journalism" degree from podunk U which lead to your great TV career of report jr college sports scores.

Your former state of Alaska that you abandoned for the riches in the big city sure isn't afraid to suck up the federal bucks- maybe you should all start paying us back- on no you need your socialist dole up there it's so cold burrrrr–

I hope you get nominated. Obama's dream.
