Palin: Obama's 'fear mongering'

(CNN) – Sarah Palin accused President Obama of "scaring" the American people over the importance of raising the debt ceiling before the August 2 deadline.

"Scaring the American people is exactly what President Obama is doing," Palin said Tuesday night on Fox News. "The president's getting pretty good at this fear mongering and trying to cram down the public's throat this idea of bigger government, more spending."

Although the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee said she respects House Speak John Boehner's efforts to negotiate with the president, she said there is a larger problem with his strategy.

"The internal problem that he has is reinventing the wheel here in the 11th hour, when we already have Cut, Cap and Balance that passed the House, and we don't need to retreat now and wave a white flag," Palin said.

The Republican-controlled House passed "Cut, Cap, and Balance," a plan that failed to pass the Democratic-controlled Senate last week. The pledge includes cuts and caps in spending and a balanced budget amendment to the constitution. Boehner is now trying to put forward a plan that includes the framework of the pledge in a deal that could become law. Obama is advocating for a "balanced approach" to the crisis that would combine spending cuts and no extension of Bush-era tax cuts for families making more than $250,000 a year.

Palin, who is considering a bid for the White House in 2012, has said raising the debt ceiling is inevitable, but that Republicans "better get something out of it."

"This August 2 deadline is looming, but it's not Armageddon, it's not life-or-death, so Boehner and the Republicans have got to make sure that they've got a good plan in front of those who will be voting on this plan," Palin said.

Sarah, please go back to he rock you crawled from under. You are irrelevant and you are so predictable, I knew you would jump right in on something that is not talking policy. You have never been helpful, only stoking the fears of Americans and causing division. Actually it has been nice hearing NOTHING from you in the past weeks!

Sarah Palin is talking real big but I don't see he throwing her hat in the ring to run for President. I she has all the answers then why isn't she running. She is trying to paint her self as an outsider. Ii's true that Obama is using a scare tactic to get attention concerning the "Debt Ceiling". This is an old Chicago style tactic. The more fearand panic he is saying the more people will believe him. But this time it's not going to work. If the election were to be held today Obama would lose, and he know it. As for Sarah Palin if she is going to be all talk then show some action and run for President.

This is typical of the Republicans' attitude about the debt ceiling issue. There are no economists of any significance who agree with Ms. Palin, and I doubt she understands the importance of the issue in the first place. Even her finances will be drastically affected if a compromise is not reached by Friday or so.

The President is good at fear mongering?! Are you serious?! You delusional twit, it was George W. Bush, who started two extraordinarily expensive unfunded wars, which has broken the American economy and literally paralyzed the world, who constantly reminding us of the RED – ORANGE – YELLOW threat levels to keep America scared and submissive. If you want fear mongering, look no further than your own party.

He's become the dictator that he accuses the rest of the world of being. Forcing his way, instead of leading. Had he been a leader, we would NOT have come to this 'last hour' dilema. He would have forgone a vacation or two or three several months ago, and worked on things then. Dictator Obama.

The woman is a simpleton. The debt ceiling has been raised every year for the last 50. If we we fail to raise it our credit rating will be knocked down internationally. Interest rates will go higher. We will not be able to pay all of our bills. It's not very difficult. The teabaggers are playing with fire- the American credit's how we borrow. The answer is quite simple: entitlement cuts combined with revenue-tax increaes on the welthiest one percent. Simple! Why would ANYONE listen to a person with a HS education explain how global economics works? It's not that complicated but it does take some studying...and common sense. NEITHER of which this nut ball has been accused of. Who would you pick to LOSE Social Security? Your parents? Your neighbors? Come on People....THINK! It's Patriotic!

If raising the debt limit is good for the country why do the Republicans have to get something out of it? Bet she didn't talk about her hero Ronald Regan warning of miss social security checks when he wanted the limit rasied. The worse thing to happen to this country is the 24 hour news cycle. Nothing but look at me quotes and who cares if I tell the truth if it sounds good

Sarah Palin is accusing the President of fear-mongering? This is the height of hypocrisy. I don't know why anyone....ANYONE continues to listen to this complete idiot. Please stop giving her any press. Maybe she'll go away in the same way that a toddler throwing a tantrum eventually calms down when they no longer are receiving the attention they desire.

I guess this seals it....Palin is CRAZY. Do we have to be subjected to her opinion on something she cannot even comprehend? I am so disgusted with all this, and just seeing/hearing her is like fingernails grating on a chalkboard.

"Scaring the American people is exactly what President Obama is doing," Palin said Wednesday night on Fox News. "The president's getting pretty good at this fear mongering"

This from the woman who terrified Americans with her claim of "Obama's death panels."

"and trying to cram down the public's throat this idea of bigger government, more spending."

Never mind that Obama has embraced significant cuts. This women has no integrity at all. She'll say anything without any regard to its truthfulness. Truly shameful, and truly pathetic that so many people are actually taken in by her tripe.

The talking heads say fear mongering is the only way Obama stands even a remote chance of being re-elected in 2012. Expect for him to be doing this at every opportunity. He'll probably keep up the weekly TV addresses to the nation. He can name it "Obama Theater" and every week will be a different scary theme. Now that I think about it, every week with him pretending to lead this country has been pretty darn scary!

'Make sure republicans get something out of it'? So you're basically admitting this is a political sideshow that the GOP is using to leverage more of their own designs on the social and political structure of the country? It's funny how each of these Republicans have this great sense of corporate doublespeak. John Boehner is always mentioning is 'tough decisions' (like balancing the budget on the back of the youth, which they will never admit to directly), or allowing the government to default, resulting in us paying for it anyway with increased interest rates and God knows what else.

Sarah, please run in 2012. Histrionic's Now!

I think she's angry that the GOP can't do all the fear mongering. When in doubt, and with limited substance, scaring people has become the default GOP way.

The "Death Panels that Sarah Palin talks about are true. In the Obama Health Care Bill the "Death Panels" are there. Let me give you a little insight. If you are over 65 and have alot of medical problems Obama wants you to "die" so the government doesn't have to pay out any "Social Security" . This is true. If you gandmother and gandfather are in the 70's he wants them to "die".
Sarah Palin is right on the "Death Panels". So when everyone gets older and you will keep it in the back of your mind that a "Death Panel" will decide if you live or die.
