Palin: Obama's 'fear mongering'

(CNN) – Sarah Palin accused President Obama of "scaring" the American people over the importance of raising the debt ceiling before the August 2 deadline.

"Scaring the American people is exactly what President Obama is doing," Palin said Tuesday night on Fox News. "The president's getting pretty good at this fear mongering and trying to cram down the public's throat this idea of bigger government, more spending."

Although the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee said she respects House Speak John Boehner's efforts to negotiate with the president, she said there is a larger problem with his strategy.

"The internal problem that he has is reinventing the wheel here in the 11th hour, when we already have Cut, Cap and Balance that passed the House, and we don't need to retreat now and wave a white flag," Palin said.

The Republican-controlled House passed "Cut, Cap, and Balance," a plan that failed to pass the Democratic-controlled Senate last week. The pledge includes cuts and caps in spending and a balanced budget amendment to the constitution. Boehner is now trying to put forward a plan that includes the framework of the pledge in a deal that could become law. Obama is advocating for a "balanced approach" to the crisis that would combine spending cuts and no extension of Bush-era tax cuts for families making more than $250,000 a year.

Palin, who is considering a bid for the White House in 2012, has said raising the debt ceiling is inevitable, but that Republicans "better get something out of it."

"This August 2 deadline is looming, but it's not Armageddon, it's not life-or-death, so Boehner and the Republicans have got to make sure that they've got a good plan in front of those who will be voting on this plan," Palin said.

When is this moron going to fade away? We all know that no matter what Obama says and does, she will spin it negatively. Case in point, the information that Obama is relaying as to the potential devastation cause by not raising the debt ceiling did not just float out of his head. It cam from a bevy of world economists and financial experts. Yet if Obama had taken the stance like the Bachmann led Tea Party idiots that under no circumstance would he consider raising the debt ceiling, then Palin would be chastising him for not listening to the experts. The real problem with Palin at the end of the day, and trust me there are many, is that she never offers a solution. NEVER. She has become an expert at critisizing people but has anyone seen a detailed solution from her? Uh no. Why is that? Because by speaking generally, what she is in fact doing is fear mongering. Please get this nitwit off her pulpit.

Palin's Tea Party is the one that should be scared. The pending credit rating decline will result in a tax of epic proportion on businesses and the general public for years to come. We can refer to it as: The TParty's Great Tax on The American People.

Ms Palin, as the old saw goes, better to be silent and be thought of as ignorant than to open ones mouth and confirm it.

@The Day of Financial Reckoning is HERE – The Great Democrat Welfare Society Ends

She's 110% right. Mr. Hopey-Changey has gone over to the dark side! Mr. Gloom-and-Doom. If everybody won't give him what he wants, the world will end. I just wish this incompetent fear monger would resign and spare us another 1.5 years of his leading-from-behind. I can't believe people actually voted for this clown.

And I can't believe you actually think she's a profound thinker. The Chamber of Commerce, which actively campaigned against health care reform, has said the same thing. Every reputable economist and economic pundit, from Ben Stein to Paul Krugman, has echoed what the President has said. The perception of the US as a stable economic entity will take a huge hit, and that will have potentially catastropic consequences. Look at who is saying the debt ceiling needs to be taken care of, and why. You might learn something.

WE SHOULD BE SCARED! Congress is about to sit on its hands and watch our economy get flushed down the toilet, why is Sarah Palin not concerned about that??

I just cannot get over how inane this woman is.

Sarah's comments will encourage denial of reality for her followers, but beyond that are Americans who understand the truth – and the result is, they are very concerned.

"When the going gets tough, the tough get going", unlike this dim witted QUITTER who refused to serve her full term for her personal gains. She only knows one thing and that is to keep herself in the media. Since the "MAMA GRIZZLY" is far away from reality (you need to follow the news and READ to know whats going around you) other than repeating "THE FIRE IN MY BELLY", the only other thing she knows is to speak crap. The queen of "Death Panels" should look in the mirror and ask... "Mirror Mirror on the wall, who is the crappiest of us all"
By now she doesn't have to open her mouth to confirm her stupidity, she should have know, alas, it requires some brains.

"it's not life-or-death." Oh but it is for many who live paycheck to paycheck, dependent on SS, disability, or scant veterans' benefits. If those checks stop, these people stop eating, stop taking meds, and have to stop paying rent. Sarah Palin really IS that dumb and soooooo very Christian (cough!).

I love how this woman stands around and "armchair quarterbacks" and "cherrypicks" at the same time. She's like a parrot on speed, mocking and stealing others ideas and thoughts. Whoever advised John McCain to awaken this blood sucking vampire needs to be kicked.

OBAMA is fearmongering??????? wow! the rethugs' whole campaigns are based on fearmongering, but when the president they hate tries to give the American people a sense of what's actually happening and why iwhat the rethugs are doing is so dangerous, these raging hypocrites cry 'fearmongering.' this twit is the biggest fearmonger of all. she's constantly projecting her faults onto others. there's a diagnosis for that, i'm sure.

Wow. A Republican accusing a Democrat of "fear mongering". Let's see. Karl Rove in 2004 didn't practically INVENT fear mongering? And all the accusations put out by the likes of YOU (Sarah Palin), and Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity, and others at FOX News, about "death panels" if the health care bill passed?! And YOU accuse Barack Obama of fear mongering?
