(CNN) – New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie checked into a hospital Thursday morning after he had difficulty breathing, the governor's press secretary, Michael Drewniak, said in a statement.
"In line with someone dealing with asthma, he is being given routine tests as a precautionary measure," Drewniak said.
Spokeswoman Maria Comella said Thursday afternoon that Christie is "fully alert and in charge" and that he was expected to leave Somerset Medical Center in the evening.
Comella told reporters that Christie received tests but no formal treatment, and that he would be back to work Friday morning.
She said the governor was able to walk into the emergency room even as he had difficulty breathing.

What is happening now is a big issue. *The CHEMICAL ATTACK from minor to Major is happening in our neighbors and around the Globe, since most people got access to DANGEROUS CHEMICALS. I think, someone did administered minor chemical substances against Gov. Christie, that sends him Hospital.
He...keep praising the Hospital Staffs all over, because of his fear of them being used by others to mistreating him.
I don't know what the problem is other than the stated asthma. However, Gov Christie, have you looked at yourself in a mirror?

These comments are making me gag – let's be honest here, he's a big old fat guy. I have no doubt his asthma is aggravated by his obesity. Why would any constituency elect a fat person? They always require more medical care and in turn drive up everyone else's premiums.
Also, he does not "serve the country" he is the governor of one state and he's not any more or less important than the governor of any other state, despite the ridiculous amount of air time he receives.

He's a lousy governor, but I wish him a speedy recovery.
What sort of healthcare does he have? State plan? Priivate? Did he go to the emergency room or did he get special treatment as a politician? Did he have to call and make an appt and be told there is an opening 3 weeks from now?
And as I would for any person, thoughts are for a full recovery.
