I have an idea to solve the "crisis"...why don't they just raise the debt ceiling? Takes about 10 minutes to do it...

When is the "news" media going to start reporting that the GOP's gamlpan is to create a 3-month crisis-cycle from now until the 2012 election?

    April – Gov't Shutdown Threat
    July/Aug – Debt Ceiling/Default Threat
    Sept/Oct – Gov't Shutdown Threat
    Dec/January – Proposed Debt Ceiling/Default Threat

    Getting the picture?

This House hasn't worked a day yet. Why expect them to do anything useful this time??

There's little point in watching the news. Nothing is going to change. There will be no deal. They are simply too polarized, with one side trying to get some kind of fiscal responsibility imposed on the other side, which wants to continue to waste hundreds of billions of dollars, with nothing to show for it.

"House Majority Leader" ! Am I missing something?
If this cryptic announcement is a not so subtle indication that the house leadership is shifting and Eric Cantor is now the one who will be in charge of structuring the House proposal, then it's time for the WH to execute the fall back plan that O'Donnell laid out a week ago. There is no way Cantor could draft a plan that would be acceptable to anyone but the Tea Party wing of the GOP. He has no interest in even trying.

Why don't we furlough all of them and give that money that they make and apply it to the debt. And let them live off unemployment checks and see how us AVERAGE Americans live.

If you morons in Washington would do your jobs and COMPROMISE, you wouldn't HAVE to work through the weekend. But since you're so set upon creating a disaster, keep working... because come 2012... YOU won't have a job!

If you'd do your job and COMPROMISE you wouldn't have to work through the weekend. But since you appear to be determined to draw this out and cause as much economic havoc as possible... you might want to keep working... right up to 2012... because after the elections, YOU won't have a job!

How about working on a job's bill while you're at it. Or would that be against some type of pledge?
