Palin to Congress: Remember your values (and what I said last November)

(CNN) – Sarah Palin reminded Republican freshmen members of Congress Thursday of the promises they made during their 2010 campaigns and encouraged them to remain true to their fiscally conservative values as Congress debates an increase to the debt ceiling.

On her Facebook page, the former Alaska governor reprinted a letter she sent the then-newly elected members in November 2010 that called on them to tackle the deficit and entitlement programs to "avert a fiscal disaster."

"Republicans campaigned on a promise to rein in out-of-control government spending," Palin wrote in 2010. "These are promises that you must keep."

In her new post, Palin asked the representatives who received backing from the tea party movement to remember those who propelled their candidacies.

"I respectfully ask these GOP Freshman to re-read this letter and remember us 'little people' who believed in them, donated to their campaigns, spent hours tirelessly volunteering for them, and trusted them with our votes," Palin wrote. "This new wave of public servants may recall that they were sent to D.C. for such a time as this."

Palin, who is considering a bid for the White House in 2012, has said raising the debt ceiling is inevitable, but that Republicans "better get something out of it." She has also been a proponent of the "Cut, Cap, and Balance" pledge passed through the Republican-controlled House and failed in the Senate.

Who really cares what Sarah Palin says about anything? The mere fact that she thinks she can "make demands" just makes me sick. What about everything she owes to the citizens of Alaska? What about the fact that she is just trashy, making a quick buck on her momentary fame? most Important of all... When will CNN and other Media outlets quit pretending that she is in any way important? It is the Media that over-inflates that outsized ego of hers. She is just the female version of other blow hards.

Okay, can someone please clear up for me why this woman is giving advice politically still? She has no job title, she isn't mayor, governor, president of a single thing. She really is a legend in her own mind...she is so worried about valadating herself to her own party still.

Does she really think there is one signle person in Washington D.C. who cares what her opinion is on any political issue? She has nothing to offer except verbal vomit. She is laughed at daily, yet she stills come beggin back for more....glutton for punishement?

Like Trump, Palin will never run. She's just in it for the money. Increase her brand value and speaker fees. And it is working!

You people need to quit picking on poor Mrs. Palin. She IS a financial expert. After all, she can see the wall street journal on the news stand from her front yard.

The "little people"? The little people are going to get screwed no matter how this ends up working out. Trust me Sarah, they're remembering the little people. Those are the ones at the shooting range with the targets painted around them.

Watching Boehner deal with the crazies in the House is just like what it would have been to watch McCain have Sarah as a VP.

Just pass a bill raising the debt ceiling. Then go ahead and fight about spending when you pass the budget. Imagine that.

Keep up the intransigence, dumb Republicans and Tea Party carnival barkers. The last election wasn't a referendum. It was an opportunity, given to you by the American people, to work with the Democrats...who are bending over backwards to work with you. You're blowing it. Get ready for a Democratic sweep in 2012.

I never thought I’d agree so WHOLE HEARTDLEY with Sarah, but I do completely…It is TIME FOR THE AMERICAN VOTER to be held accountable for their decision at the polls…I for one hope the freshman hold true, and if we are forced to default, so be it! Too often, we elect bums, and then complain about the bums, as if they got there by magic…

It is all abouot her huge ego...as big as her daughter's moon face...she is sick...CNN please stop covering her and she will only be covered by the ignoramuses on FOX.

There is no difference between the Tea Party and the Taliban. Both remain true to their "values and principles" no matter the outcome of their actions, i.e. beheading the economy.

Stay true tea party. This country needs an awakening and realize that hard work and discipline is the path to stability. And you boomers had better get ready. The under 30 crowd is not going to support your overspending lifestyle.

Why is this woman still getting ink and facetime? She was unable to run her state and resigned. She's urging her tea sippers to destroy the what remains of the U.S. economy. She fails to have grasp on U.S. history. There's an applicable saying: Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. Palin is unable to ignore history because she doesn't know it.
