(CNN) – Sarah Palin reminded Republican freshmen members of Congress Thursday of the promises they made during their 2010 campaigns and encouraged them to remain true to their fiscally conservative values as Congress debates an increase to the debt ceiling.
On her Facebook page, the former Alaska governor reprinted a letter she sent the then-newly elected members in November 2010 that called on them to tackle the deficit and entitlement programs to "avert a fiscal disaster."
"Republicans campaigned on a promise to rein in out-of-control government spending," Palin wrote in 2010. "These are promises that you must keep."
In her new post, Palin asked the representatives who received backing from the tea party movement to remember those who propelled their candidacies.
"I respectfully ask these GOP Freshman to re-read this letter and remember us 'little people' who believed in them, donated to their campaigns, spent hours tirelessly volunteering for them, and trusted them with our votes," Palin wrote. "This new wave of public servants may recall that they were sent to D.C. for such a time as this."
Palin, who is considering a bid for the White House in 2012, has said raising the debt ceiling is inevitable, but that Republicans "better get something out of it." She has also been a proponent of the "Cut, Cap, and Balance" pledge passed through the Republican-controlled House and failed in the Senate.

Palin's latest ghostwritten tweet seems to imply that she had something to do with the tide of Tea Party friendly candidates elected in 2010. However, we in Alaska, who know Palin best, remember all too well how Palin's heavily endorsed pick for the Republican Senate Seat was humiliatingly beaten in a write-in vote by Lisa Murkowski, against whom Palin heavily campaigned. Palin herself would never run for Congress for Alaska because all polls show what she knows herself, she would lose.
Republicans "better get something out of it." Pretty much sums up her view of things and the unfortunate view of many of the hyper-partisans from both sides. She doesn't seem to get that this attitude is what is turning everyone in this country against the government and against her party in particular. We need compromise and not just ingratiating platitudes and unyielding positions. She just doesn't seem to be adult enough to grasp that need or that concept.
The Tea Party (Palin followers) continue to make trouble in Washington. Get a grip Palin and forget running to the White House – ain't gonna happen.
It amazes me that anyone listens to Sarah Palin at all. She is less than bright, shrill, and an incompetent quitter. She is not qualified to give advice to anyone but fools and other less than bright followers.
