(CNN) – Sarah Palin reminded Republican freshmen members of Congress Thursday of the promises they made during their 2010 campaigns and encouraged them to remain true to their fiscally conservative values as Congress debates an increase to the debt ceiling.
On her Facebook page, the former Alaska governor reprinted a letter she sent the then-newly elected members in November 2010 that called on them to tackle the deficit and entitlement programs to "avert a fiscal disaster."
"Republicans campaigned on a promise to rein in out-of-control government spending," Palin wrote in 2010. "These are promises that you must keep."
In her new post, Palin asked the representatives who received backing from the tea party movement to remember those who propelled their candidacies.
"I respectfully ask these GOP Freshman to re-read this letter and remember us 'little people' who believed in them, donated to their campaigns, spent hours tirelessly volunteering for them, and trusted them with our votes," Palin wrote. "This new wave of public servants may recall that they were sent to D.C. for such a time as this."
Palin, who is considering a bid for the White House in 2012, has said raising the debt ceiling is inevitable, but that Republicans "better get something out of it." She has also been a proponent of the "Cut, Cap, and Balance" pledge passed through the Republican-controlled House and failed in the Senate.
and our demand to Palin?.....shut up
.is anybody noticed, she has the same ears as a Casey Anthony.....enough said!!!
The national deficit we have is because republicans always increase the deficit to pay for wars. They never raise taxes to pay for them. They make them go unpaid and then they want the midle class to pay for it. If tea party wants to pay down the deficit go tell them to get it from teh people who have it, the top 1%.
Let her stomp her feet. She doesn't run the United States; she comments on Fox.
And her followers might be loud, but they're nowhere near a majority, in either the GOP or this country.
Wow, she ha been completely marginalized but yet CNN continues to put her on the front page. This is my belief. I always wanted to believe that CNN was balanced. It was left a little bit but they have right representation. I think this shows them as far left. They only put Palin on here to paint a false picture that this is the "tea party movement" or "this is the republicans". Just as they excluded Gary Johnson from the republican debate, they want the republicans to appear as freakish as possible. Not unfortunately the repub are freakish, but they have some voices of reason (like Gary Johnson). The last thing CNN wants is for them to appear reasonable.
If the liberal press would stop following her around, she'd go away.
the conservative press long ago started ignoring her.
Shut your piehole, dingbat. Back under your alaskan rock. Shoo.
Once more, with feeling....
Raising the debt ceiling does NOT mean incurring more debt. I realize it might sound like that, but they are separate issues.
Palin and the Tea Party are such anti-government zealots, they can't be bothered to actually study the details of how this country is governed. Government bad! Freedom good! Palin 2012! You betcha!
Sarah Palin is a quitter, and a coward if she thinks she has the answer she should get in the race. Oh yeah, all the polls have her getting her butt whooped by Obama
I can't wait for Sarah Palin to be President of the United States. She would single handedly destroy Liberalism as we know it for decades.
Smart, Accomplished, Principled, and easy on the eyes.....MY kind of candidate.....GO FOR IT SARAH !
Palin says "remember us LITTLE PEOPLE"? This millionaire media-star, 6-figure per speech creature is one of the LITTLE PEOPLE? Who on earth does this person think she is kidding? Her followers–excuse me, FANS-must be dumb as dirt.
Another example of the media providing foder for her money making cannon. Who really gives a damn what she says/thinks/writes/tweets/does??? She is and always will be McCain's folly.
palin should not be allowed to run for any future political office after running out of her pledged term as governor of alaska !
total bs lack of respect for obligations .
Dingbat! Party of one, your table is ready.
Just SHUT UP already. enough said
"Fiscally conservative values" huh Sarah? How bout them jobs, where are they, hmmmmm?
Palin!!! Give it up!! shut your pie hole!!! Your not running for office!! you have no pull. If you want the tea baggers to do something maybe you should run and do it yourself! you sound stupid!! How can the American people ever trust you? you quit your post that people elected you to...the state of Alaska. What are you going to do if you did get the office and things got hard?? Quit, thats what you'll do. Ever hear of a track record?? You should return to middle earth. Why ooh why did McCain let you out of your cage??
She did not even complete her term as governor. How the hell can she be an expert on anything. Oh that's right she's not an expert except how to con people out of their money. "WAKE UP PEOPLE SHE DOES NOT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT ANYTHING BUT GETTING MORE MONEY"
What about the govners office term you run out on??? Seems you don't follow through with your pledge Sarah "quiter" Palin!!!!!
So now she's trying to call hersef US LITTLE PEOPLE
The only little little thing about her is how little grey matter she has
She has the nerve to actaully insinuate that the reason they were elected was largely because of her
Another classic over the top Narcissism moment from the Queen of
wow CNN, showing your true liberal colors with an article titled "... Palin's sharp demand" and in the article it tells how she has encouraged republicans to stay true to why they were elected in 2010. Sharp demand???
@Robert...with all due respect, what was the media's "job" in this? This is a financial crisis, Robert. The media didn't create it, and they're not going to be able to do anything to resolve it. As for Palin "delivering"...she delivers nothing except uneducated platitudes. And I say that as a registered Republican.
The Tea Party is little more than a legion of retirees shouting "Keep the government out of my Medicaid". Anyone who truly holds that kind of philosophy is in no way qualified to run the country, and has very little chance of pulling us out of the current disaster. Unfortunately, expenses will have to be cut and some taxes raised if we're going to rid ourselves of this ridiculous debt. Fighting tool and nail with the other side of the aisle isn't going to get it done. Hyper-partisan politics must come to an end, or we will.
Sarah. Shut up,get back in the kitchen, and bake me a pie .
She's good at reminding someone else what they should do after she didn't stay true to her obligations as Governor in Alaska. I wish the media wouldn't report anything she says/does. Leave that to Fox News. She's a comedian and not equipped to give advise on the fiscal obligations of this country, especially. She doesn't need to worry about money, some fools made sure that she has become a very wealthy woman by buying books she can't write about and paying her to report on topics she knows nothing about!
Ha! Remember what she said last November. Really, Sarah? And who are you? P-LEASE!!! Ok, recess is over now. You can go back inside. Talk about the blind leading the blind. Anybody following (or God forbid "listening") to this woman needs to be spanked for intolerable behavior. To even suggest that ANYTHING, and I mean ANYTHING, that she says is valuable is an insult to the intelligence of the MAJORITY of the American public.
